SOURCE: My kindle paperwite will not charge

USB chargeable devices can suffer fwhen using improper or unauthorized (as the case for many cell phones) chargers. Many times, its due to a low current or wattage rating. They all provide proper polarity a voltage of 5 Volts DC, but the amps or milliamps (expressed as "A" or "mA") may be so low that it takes 2, 3 or more times longer than it would with the original charger. Some produce only .3 Amps (300 milliamps) of output current (or 1.5 watts) or less while many original chargers that ship with devices have 3 or more times that output (up to 2.1 Amps or 2100 mA or 11 watts). Watts is simply the product of Volts x Amps. You can use USB chargers that provide more current (amps) than required - but using chargers with lower current or wattage ratings will take noticeably longer to charge devices. Furthermore, use of a low current / wattage charger may not even be able to charge the device - if you're using it at the same time.

How do I get out of Safe Mode?

Hi Claudia. I found this.

I found Please remove leather case on your kindle before performing the steps below.
Please press and hold down the power button for 25-30 seconds until the Kindle restarts or Shutdown. If it prompts for Shutdown then please shut down the device and power it back on.
That should fix the problem.

Thank you for choosing Experthelp.

Safe mode turns on when you shut down the kindle while the volume button is being pressed down. Solution-Restart your kindle by holding the power button until the screen shuts off. Make sure that the volume button is not being pressed while you restart your kindle. Then keep pressing the volume button, about 10 times to unstick them then turn on the kindle. Safe mode should turn offand how you go into it.

Soft Reset:

Hold the power switch for twenty seconds. You will need to slide the power switch along and hold it for twenty seconds before releasing it. ...

Kindle fire will not charge-got a new charger and it still will not charge- does it need anew battery and how do I do that?

The Kindle touch and the Kindle FIre are great devices for your reading needs. However, there are times when it becomes unresponsive and freezes on you. Amazon says it is because the battery isn't charged properly or does not have enough power on it. It is advisable to charge your battery first before trying to reset the Kindle touch/Fire. If theKindle still has issues, then try the steps below on how to reset your Kindle touch/fire. Please note that you may lose your data during the reset process, make sure you have made a backup of your files before proceding.
  • Hard and soft reset
Make sure the Kindle is turned ON.
  • Press the Power button for 20-30 seconds until it turns OFF.
  • Wait for it to reboot, if it doesn't press the power button to turn it ON.
  • Your kindle should be back to a responsive state.
  • this might help you.

Sounds like your power cord is dead and that it's not charging. If it's new bring it back to the store you bought it from and get a new one.

Kindle light is orange when I charge but even after of hours of charging continuous efforts to turn on Kindle, it won't turn on.

Try to slide and hold the on switch until after the power light blinks three times (should happen after a little more than 5 seconds). Release the switch after the blinks and the Kindle should start up.

This is only necessary if the Kindle was switched off by the same method before, or if the battery was completely drained. A short nudge of the power switch merely puts it in and out of a power-saving sleep mode, the prolonged hold really cuts / reinstates power.

My kindle dont work

If all attempts trying to unfreeze it fail, you may have a logic board issue. Are you sure the Kindle powers up? It may show something on the sreen, even if it is not turned on (e-ink screen does not need a powersupply to show an image). Try to power up your Kindle with a different battery. If that fails, you can get the part at Kindle Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at Kindle Repair Guide.

My Kindle froze, how do I reboot it?

there's a little pinhole at the bottom. insert a paper clip to do a hard reset. Or remove the battery and re-insert it to the same effect.
