Is a 30-gallon bladder diaphragm holding tank best for me?

Yes, a bladder type tank is a lot more dependable. You can install a diaphragm into your bladderless tank but it will still need to be charged with air periodically.

My current water tank was installed 12 years ago With Bladder. 1 hp motor. 80 gals. Water Pressure is consistantly low. When reset to 40-50 lbs, it drops shortly after back to thirty lbs in the house....

If I understand you, this is a water well. For pressure to drop, water must be going somewhere. If you see no leak in the tank, that is not the problem.
Check all outlets, faucets, toilets, showers, outside faucets, etc. If you see no leaks and the pressure is still dropping, there is a check valve either before the pump or in the well and this could be leaking back. Either way, the pressure should drop to zero unless the pump comes back on.

Bissell model 7901-1 won't dispense The pump turns, belt looks good Fluid from the reservoir is seen with a couple of bubbles in the inlet tube. It sloshes back and forth but doesn't get going

It's one of two things:

1. The Bladder may be empty. Remember, the bladder is inside the reservoir, so the bladder may look full, but in fact could be empty.

2.Or the lent screen may be clogged.

The pump goes on and off repeatedly

The pump should only run if you are using water. If you have a leak it will cycle on and off. If it only cycling fast when you're using water, you may need an expansion tank, sometimes referred to as a bladder tank for newer style. If you have a "bladder" tank , the bladder may be leaking and lost it's air charge. This bladder will have an initial air charge, and when the pump runs it will compress the bladder even further. When the pump shuts off the bladder is compressed. When you begin to use water, mainly low flow like one faucet, the bladder will begin to expand expelling the water from the tank until the pressure drops below that of the pump pressure switch. This makes the pump start and stop fewer times.

How do you stop a 12 volt water pump from short cycling when the outlet tap is on

Is this in a camper? You can either increase the flow to match that of the pump, or install a "bladder" tank in your plumbing system. A small air bladder tank is not too expensive. You charge it with a min of air pressure. When the pump comes on, it will pump the water, and this will compress the bladder raising the pressure in the bladder. When you begin to use the water, the bladder tank will begin to supply the water, when the pressure drops sufficently enough for the pump to come on the cycle will repeat, allowing the pump to start and stop with a delay in between instead of off-on-off-on etc.

Low water pressure- have a home water well

There is usually a metal filter at the wellpoint on the bottom of your drop-tube, but I don't think that is the problem if you are not getting particles in your water. This is easy to check for just by putting water in a glass and looking for little specks.

I would be more inclined to look for holes in the drop-tube where AIR is getting into the system, thus reducing the suction of the pump.

If you are using a "bladder tank" to maintain pressure, it could be that the "off" setting is too low. You want that to be in the 50-60 psi area. "ON" should be about 40 psi.

Anyway, I think an air leak is the more likely problem, but to find out for sure, you almost have to pull the drop-tube, which might be very long. That would best be left to a well service company.

Good luck!
