could be a number if things, dirty carb, old gas, dirty coil contacts, low combustion chamber pressure, (bad rings), bad spark plug. First try replacing the spark plug and if it is old gas remove and replace with fresh. if that doesn't do it then the carb needs to be removed, cleaned and blown out thoroughly with an air compressor. reassemble and reinstall. next is to remove the recoil housing and clean the coil contacts. the coil is attached to the spark plug wire. remove and with some old gas or wd-40 and a wire brush, remove dirt and rust from contacts as well as magnet on the flywheel. be sure to leave the proper gap between the coil and flywheel when you replace the coil. If you can pull the recoil with your forefinger and thumb, chances are your machine is toast and needs a ring job. good luck
First, turn it off, and completely unplug it, then plug it back and turn it on if it continues to do the same thing replace the fill valve on it, just always make sure your safe when working on it or whatever your doing let me know im interested thks hope this helps
Good day, On GE products it's referred to as a rattle down. It is internal to the compressor, and short of a new one, little can be done. They will many times run a long time before failing, even years. The only thing you can do, is make sure the condenser coils are clean. Vacuuming doesn't always work. You need to unplug the machine, remove the back cover, and blow the coils out from back to front, and then front to back. Ugly and dirty, but should be done. A good shop vac with a push/pull feature and crevice tool works great, if you don't have a compressed air tank. Second, make sure the cooling fan by the compressor is running properly, and lastly Make sure you reinstall the back cover completely. IT IS A VITAL PART OF THE MACHINE.
The gas valve coils are bad. When they heat up they are losing resistance to stay on. Turn off the gas. Unplug the machine. Remove the front panel. The gas valve will be in the front right hand corner. Remove the gas valves and replace them with new valves. Please note how the coils orient on the gas valve.
You will have to replace "BOTH" of those gas solinoids. First, be absolutely sure that you "TURN OFF THE GAS". Then be sure the unit is unplugged. Remove the phillips head screws, remove the small metal top bracket, and slide the coil up and off. Then replace the coil, rehook your wire, and replace the metal holder. Upon testing, be sure to turn your gas back on. The first time it may act like it wont start, but let it cycle through a couple times to remove air. Good Luck And Be Safe. Jim
