Somewhat limited information, but clean out the fridge/freezer.. maybe a liquefying cucumber or worse, potato.. wipe everything down with baby sterilising fluid.

if the odour persists, get a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda in a small plastic tub without a lid, and stick it in the back out of sight.. bicarb will soak up the odour quickly/overnight. a few drips of lemon juice into the bicarb, and some zest, will add a lemony essence to the interior.

There is usually a filter in the bottom of the machine where the perforations are.
Ofter you twist the cylinder around or turn a lever.
Try a full hot wash with detergent and nothing in it to see if it helps flush it out.
Is the drain hose into the sink, pipe or waste under the sink clear.
You may need to get down and dirty with the waste pipes to makes certain everything is flowing OUT easliy.

I can't remove the detergent drawer from the washing machine.

After you are finished with the wash, leave the door open. Seriously.. you NEED to leave the door open so it can air out after each wash. Just a crack will do, if you close the door and seal it, bacteria will grow and make a bad smell. Your laundry room will smell bad for awhile at first but it'll clear out after several days. If you can't stand the smell, buy a kit in the soap isle that eliminates washer odor. Remember the kit is a temp solution, leaving the door open after using the washing machine is the real fix.

What is the difference between a deodorant and an antiperspirant?

Deodorants help to kill the skin bacteria responsible for causing unpleasant odors and to mask the smell while antiperspirants are used just to keep the skin dry.

2when I open refrigerator door there is a terrible odor from the refrigerator. Have removed anything in the refrigerator that could possibly be smelling. got any ideas?

Have you removed the bins and cleaned under them. Sometimes the overflows and drips accumulate there.

It the refrigerator is clean, then baking soda usually helps with absorbing the odor.

But if you still have odor being produced and the unit is clean, you need to look further. If it is a chemical smell you might want to roll the unit out and check to make sure that there isn't a creamy looking liquid on the floor, which COULD be freon.

But the most likely item is that you have some bacteria growing in the drain line that is producing the odor. Suggest you mix a 50/50 mix of bleach and water and pour that down the drain to kill the bacteria. Do that several times over a day or two and see if the odor goes away.

Hi Kalpana_bhar,

Seems like your refrigerator has an unpleasant odor. There are several ways on how to remove irritating smell out of your machine, first thing is to remove spoiled food and then clean the door seals. Here are some steps that you can apply to get rid of unpleasant odor.

Remember you safety, please unplug your machine or disconnect the unit from the power outlet before conducting any repair.

1. Remove spoiled food.

2. Then clean the refrigerator interior with a solution of hot water and baking soda.

3. You also need to check the door seals.
--> please clean the door seals with a toothbrush and solution of warm water and baking soda or you may use water and bleach. Please be careful not to pull too hard so you will not tear the seal.

Noticed the transmission fluid on my 2009 crv has an odor. I wouldnt say it is a burnt smell necessarily, well, maybe a slight tad. But fluid level and color appears to be good. Is it normal for there...

No, mostly it is a not unpleasant smell. Your transmission may be getting hot due to the work you do. I would advise you to change the oil and filter and fit an after market cooler into the oil cooling circuit.

When I run the air cond there is a unpleasant odor the we smell. The unit has not been used for a 3 years. Any thing I can do to get rid of the odor. can I clean something ? Change filter ? Ron

Definately change the filters, but im sure there will be an odor from sitting around. Clean the evaporator coil , not with high pressure wash, dont wanna damage the fins, they sell cleaners at HVAC suppliers. That should do the trick
