I can't answer the problem - but am interested as we had an identical failure on holiday in South Africa. We had to force the case open as the lock and the mechanism seemed to have come adrift in that when moving the lever with the correct combination - the case neither opened or closed. I'm sending it back to Samsonite under warranty to hopefully get it repaired/replaced. I rang the UK number listed on the Samsonite website. Bit disappointed as Samsonite should be more reliable - particularly given the price of the case, at £295, isn't exactly cheap.

hi, it should be turn right then stop on 1st number then turn left stop on 2nd number then turn right stop on 3rd number then turn left stop on 4th.
This should then solve your problem.
Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

SOURCE: I have a tsa lock
Unless you want to take it to a locksmith, who can decode it in a few seconds, you can run through all the possible combinations for the lock. There are only a thousand of them and it really doesn't take that long. You may even get lucky, and hit a combination that represents something significant, such as an anniversary, birthday, or other important number.
