There is usually a setting that allows you to set how many, or which ones are viewed on the main screen. Unfortunately, each system is different.

Look at 'View' settings.

SOURCE: Rear view camera setting???

Dear debbie,
This could be caused by the following:
Purple/white "reverse sensor wire" not connected to vehicles reverse lamp harness. (Are your reverse lamps functioning?)
OR
Reverse cam video out not connected to Kenwood's "rear view camera input" (Yellow RCA socket behind the unit).
The monitor set up controls merely switch R-cam betwen "full, just, zoom and normal" modes. No provision here to ebnable or disable the cam.
When you put your car in reverse dos the monitor screen change?.

SOURCE: DVR camera system help

First, check what ports the DVR system uses, in GeoVision for example is:
80, 3550, 4550, 5550, 6550
So...
You DVR must be with Manual IP
And then, open the router management page and configure NAT settings, so that when someone in the outside network "calls" you ip+port, the router knows to which machine the "call" is...
Also... use some kind of dynamic dns service like DynDns or NO-IP so that people use an regular URL and not a IP address.

SOURCE: Problem setting up Network Cameras

on the cameras them self there should be a adress and baud rate setting this should be the same as what you have on the software. also the cable that you have going back to your ethernet panel cannot be by any electric lighting or anything like that and check and make sure that the connetors that plug in to the panel have the right color code. you need to look for the straight through wiring diagram 568b. hope this helps.

My h 264 dvr has eight channels. I only need three or four cameras. Can I reduce the onscreen camera squares from eight to four?

I general, it should be possible, most DVRs do that, but we need more information on the brand, model, etc.

There should be a configuration menu, oneof the entries usually says "Layout" or similar. Others are under "Screen".

There should be options about 1, 2, 4 or 8 squares to view corresponding cameras. Most DVRs let you also to change the name of the screen.

I have a sentient cctv dvr from Maplin I can view it on my phone at home which is fine I wanted to know if I can view camera footage when I'm not at home etc. at work

Yes you can definitely view your CCTV footage on your mobile phone at your work via internet. Sentient CCTV DVR basically is a night vision camera. You must know the IP of the camera and IP Video server. Connecting your phone to CCTV camera via the protocol you can view the CCTV footage's in your phone. Night vision cameras are used for surveillance purpose. I would prefer cctv camera with ir illuminator for good image quality in the night time that will clear footage quality in my phone.
Recently many new applications have also being launched by security cameras with a view to solve problem you mentioned.

What type of Batteries does it use

Your camera can use two types of power either four AA's or two of the Olympus type CR-V3 batteries. If you don't have batteries for it now I'd suggest purchasing a four battery set with charger and an extra set of four rechargeable so you have a total of eight rechargeable batteries. That way you can be using a set of batteries while another set is on the charger.
Hers is a diagram of the battery set up for your camera.

Can't view my cameras

The DVR will be programmed with an IP Address via the DVR main menu function (network settings) and a valid password. The network viewing software (web viewer) you will need to ensure that the IP address is entered correctly for your DVR along with your valid user password.

Trust the above info is of assistance if you require a manual in order to check your settings try this link http://tv.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/samsung/samsung_dvr_product_list.html

Cat5e jack by leviton has eight slots, but my cat5 cable only has 4 wires in it. I punched the wires down on the back four connectors. As long as I do the same on my ends, this should work right? Please...

Cat5 has eight wires, anything less is for telephone. Your cabe is for telephone if it has 4 wires. Either return the cable and get 8-wire cat5 or go to another store for your cat5 wire.

Page chaging

This DVR dose not support that...You can either see one camera full screen or see all 4 in a quad screen depending on how many cameras you have and how may of them are enabled.
If the Preview feature in the Camera menu is On, you can view live video on the monitor.
Video is displayed full-screen only if one camera is turned on. If more than one camera is
turned on, video is shown in a quad view. Sorry but its not going to be able to do what you are looking for...Pelco didn’t put that feature in their small DVR until the DX4000 series......Good Luck and let me know if this helps,
