    what Notebook? name and number.
what ISP connection, dial up or fiber or cable modem.? speed matters
dial up can in fact take 10 days for major 5GB updates. if on my ISP it took 3.6 minutes
so run this and see your speeds.http://beta.speedtest.net/
min pegs the meter at 200.

answer 1(no posted screens so... answers will be weak by any one )

Let it, run, do its thing, some updates
take long time, if on slow internet ,huge times.
do you see the silly microsoft blue screens
that dont tell much, not even the MS logo.>
it will say only, updating now, with no clarification, well that MS bs, running.
i have w10 pro and can set updates to happen only turn on , never off.
    and do.

here is one more lousy screen from MS. note lack of MS LOGO. sad, no?, the poor users gets to guess
what THING put that silly screen there,
what are your screens showing.? tell me the words there... or post photos; here.
ive complained to MS many times on this topic
    they never listen,

the only clue is HAL, MS name for hardware abstraction layer. (most time wrong video driver)
here is MS bs screen 2, again no clue as to who did it.

this is update, , no MS logo anywhere to be seen. only COLOR is your clue.

  • Anonymous Apr 24, 2017

how long depends on your ISP connection speeds
    dial up, forever.
FIOS , super fast. fiber to home.
i have 16channel cable box, and runs 200Mbps.

    SOME Folks get
    750 Mbit/s (Boston)

My HP notebook died like this because the HD was worn out, because of the constant updating. remove Windoze 10 and/or replace the HD, i threw mine away....i recovered the HD on another pg using a HD-usb adaptor they cost 10 bucks on ebay ;)

Testimonial: "I can say one thing, I will never buy another HD, it's the worst one I ever had. I don't know how I can use your suggestion because it's not actually starting past the widow screen and then restarts. Thank you for your help. Rita"

all owners of cars, pC , whatever
if it fails get it fixed,99.9% do that.
are you the 1% if yes say so we love 1% persons, (motivated we call them)
    or learn now.
go to HP.com join the real forum and ask there.
why ask in chat/blog h3LL here.

try to know we dont know what screen it's stuck on
you never showed anyone a photo of your screens
tell you what, go to geek squid
blind fold them all, and then insist they fix it.
see? no we cant see your PC.
Its no Toaster its over 3million transistors there. (complex beyond your dreams)

try not to blame, your HP
    before trying brand X.
if your internet is bad/slow, brand X fails too.
    see?
windows 10 is bad this way, it's not HP fault this.
HP must run W10, now, there is no other choice but w10 now,
so if MS messes up it's MS problem.
if your ISP is dead, it's there problem.
if your connected with DIAL up or very slow DSL
updates, will fail. or take days.
lessons in life, first find out true cause then lay blame and win.
as you can see MS hates customers with slow internet speeds, for sure.
    (HARD PROOF)

How far does it boot. ?? try to be clear here
even show screens, using a CELL CAM
1-billion CELL cams and everyone scared of it?

how far, past the BIOS screens can you get.?

    we wait with baited breath,
the better your inputs the far better be the answers, x10
so far all we know is
"starting over and over", (really an impossible post)

How to change Windows10 Safe Mode password as the current password is not accepted?

Win 10 pretty secure. See if there is some software that will enable you to change/bypass the password. Try to google it. If nada you will have to reload. And if you go to HP for help they will refer you to forum or suggest you get another computer - an HP of course.

Bought new hP pavilion 550-153wb, and need all available drivers

Drivers are updated on no specific schedule. If your computer was not custom-made, then it is possible for it to need a driver update between the time it was manufactured and the time it was shipped to you. If you question the necessity, refer the the manufacturer's website for driver update information.

Added updates to hp pavillion dv 6000..its gets to update 3 of 3 and says 0% then just keeps restarting how do i fix this???

I'm asuming you're trying to update windows (vista)
- if so, afaik the problem is a bug in some of the updates and a quick fix would be:
1) Insert Vista CD/DVD and start setup.
2) Select language and so on
3) Find and select repair my computer
4) Select your Vista installation and click next.
5) Click "command prompt"
6) Type 'ren c:\windows\winsxs\pending.xml pending.bak' press enter.
7) Type 'ren c:\windows\winsxs\cleanup.xml cleanup.bak' press enter.
8) Type 'exit' press enter.
9) Click restart.

This should help if the problem is what I think it is.
If it helps you can either disable updates or try again and hope for the best.

Good luck ; )

Bios update

Hello!!

I am not sure after installing which update the display has gone. I mean Windows update or HP software update or BIOS update.

Let me take the senario of the BIOS update and assist you in this regard.

If the display has gone after installing the BIOS update, then the issue cases are 1. Installed wrong BIOS update 2. Notebooks might have restarted or hanged while installing the BIOS update.

In both the cases BIOS will get currupt and there will be no display on the notebook.

Solution for the issue is: If you notebook is under warranty, HP will arrange for mail-in repair, plss contact HP. If the notebook is out of warranty, then you need to contact HP authorized service center.

Compaq presario v6000 laptop keyboard malfunction

Try reseting the BIOS to its defaults by following the instructions below :

Start or restart the Notebook and start tapping the F10 key immideatly you see the HP logo.

Now, in this press the F9 key to load the BIOS Default settings.

Press the F10 key to save the settings and exit the BIOS setup window.

Additionally, check by connecting any USB Keyboard to the Notebook if available.

Additionally, find the Product Number of the Notebook which is indicated with P/N printed on a white sticker pasted at the bottom of the notebook.

Open HP.com and enter this in the search field at the top right column.

Click on Software & Driver downloads and select the Operating System in the Notebook which should be Vista.

Scroll down to find BIOS under which you will find the BIOS Updates available for your Notebook.

Download and save the latest BIOS Update available.

Close all the windows and applications and double click on the file to update the BIOS.

Donot attempt to access any application or turn it off or restart when the BIOS is being updated as this will damage the BIOS Chip and make the Notebook useless.

The Notebook will restart automatically after the BIOS is Updated.

Hope this helps...
