Sounds like the carb is sticking and not letting it stay functioning correctly. Usually, this means that it is time for a carb rebuild. After you get this problem fixed I would highly recommend putting a stabilizer in your fuel to keep it from gumming up your carb when it is sitting.

SOURCE: what is the correct fuel/oil mix for evinrude 4hp ?

the proper mix is 50 to 1 or 16 oz to every 6 gallons,in my little boat I put 4 quarts in the 48 gal tank and its been running for 22 years, your running way to rich and your plug is probaly fouled, take it out clean it up/dump your fuel and mix it right, thats a great motor you got,I hunted with it for years,oh yeah when you get started run it till all the smoke is gone or you will have carb problems ,if you dont have them all ready,a little carb cleaner wont hurt but get it running first,or all that trash will foul you out, have a great trip bartriley1

SOURCE: Dies after running about 2 minutes

It's got all the symptoms of a leak in the fuel line. You may want to start backward at the tank and work your way all the way to the carb to find it but it would be surprising if it was something else. All the best.

2010 150 Evinrude E-Tech. Motor was running great then just shut off. Will not start again.Could it be it needes to be reset, all 4 lights at tach light up showing good.

first bit of advice
do not use e-mix fuels in outboard engines
WHY
because ethanol separates from the fuel if not used continuously so letting it stand between outings is not good
secondly ethanol is hygroscopic which means that it absorbs moisture from the air that is going in via the tank vent and that results in corroded aluminium parts and rusted fuel tanks and outboards operate in a very moisture laden environment
now for the problem
being a late model engine , it should be a 4 stroke and like any 4 stroke engine , check the timing belt/chain, crank/cam position sensors , ignition module
it is important to check all harness connections as salt water rapidly causes corrosion in electrical connections and components
have the service agent do a scan for fault codes remember this
Suzuki out board 2 stroke motors were used in the early suzuki 4x4 cars and modern 4 stroke engines are simply car engines on end

I have a 1998 model E25RMECA I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TYPE GAS TO USE IN IT. AND IF IT IS 2 CYCLE OR 4CYCLE.

I found a mixture of sites for the information
one owner of a 1998 25 hp evinrude says that it is a 2 stroke with a fuel mix ratio of 50:1 as 25:1 is a bit smokey
another site says that the recommended octane fuel rating is 87 although it might run better on 91
best advice is to find an evinrude service dealer and get the right information as the later 25 hp units are etec engine which will be 4 strokes

Why my 97' f-250 7.3 powerr stroke keeps dieing while idling

The power stroke engine has several things that will cause this problem #1 crank shaft sensor AKA cam shaft sensor on crank shaft located on passenger side of engine near crank shaft pulley # 2 IPC sensor Injection pressure control if has oil in sensor replace it & wiring pigtail .#3 high pressure oil pump not up to par. #4 injection pressure regulator solenoid they get sticky. with a good scanner that has FORD enhanced software you can check all of these without leaving the drivers seat and perform running tests on injectors and test the ficm module interface with the pcm. Fuel Injection Control Module & Power Control Module.

Evinrude 115 v4 carbs flooding it will crank run for a sec and cut off u can crank back up and give it gas and it will run for min and flood out real strong gas smelling smoke

Hello, It is important to insure engine compression is good and even on all 4 cylinders before proceeding with any repair on any 2 stroke engine. A general rule of thumb is +/- 10% difference and 115psi and up is best for good power and idle quality. If you need a compression tester get a screw in type from your local auto parts.. approx. 25.00 will get you a good enough unit. after insuring your compression is satisfactory, I HIGHLY recomend all of the next steps. Your carbs need rebuilt. 2 stroke engines must have a very clean and updated fuel system throughout. Rebuild both carbs and acid dip them for the best cleaning, wash with water thoroughly, blow out water after washing with compressed air, inspect all holes to see light through with a flashlight, install and rebuild fuel pump, replace all fuel lines & primer bulb. Drain fuel tank and mix new fuel 50 to 1. also replace water pump impeller and lower unit oil.
Lots of work but pretty easy with a manual and will insure your engine a good running long life.
I hope this helps and there is much to discuss when it comes to outboard engines but this engine series was one of the best in my opinion. Let me know if you need anything else. God Bless

2000 Blazer Will not stay running

Wow, you seemed to have changed what I would have recommended to someone in your shoes.

If the fuel pump relay is hot, I think that there could be a crossed wire somewhere.

I would take it to an auto electric shop to diagnose problem if it's worth putting more money into it.
