SOURCE: Air Handler leaking

First make sure unit is level. Drain pan may be dirty. On the rheem or Ruud unit the back of the pan gets stopped up. Ithas small holes that let the water by and they get stopped up. Now even though your drain is clean you may have a stopped up dain pan. Check this > These are problems you can take care of your self. Open up the top panel of your unit and you can look down on the drain pan. Check for dirt and stoppage near the outlet of the drain pan. You amy also have a cracked drain pan but I doubt it. Rus

SOURCE: RUUD UBHA-14 J11SFJA air handler. The fan (blower) doesn?t runs

Absolutely, however, you want to properly diagnose the reason why the fan is not running. It could be a less expensive part than the fan motor itself.
First, check to see if you have the proper voltage going to the motor. I believe your motor requires 240volts ac. If you do not have 240 volts, you have a control problem.......either the thermostat is failing to close R & G or your blower relay may have failed to close the contacts necessary for your fan to operate.
If you have the voltage, then you want try spinning the blower wheel with your hand. Does it spin freely? Is the motor warm/hot? If so, turn everything off for an hour or so. As soon as your energize it, try spinning the motor with your hand again.....if it spins freely with no resistance and then starts running by itself, the problem is the run capacitor (approx $20.00 depending on where you purchase it from). If there is resistance when you try to spin it, the problem is most likely with the bearings and you will need to replace the motor.......if you have to replace the motor, go ahead and replace the capacitor also, making sure it is properly "matched" with your new motor.

I hope you find this to be very helpful to you, moving forward. :-)

SOURCE: air handler motor stopped working

Check the capacitor before you replace the motor. It's a common problem that's easily fixed. Make sure the fan rotates freely.

What tonnage is ruud UBEA-21J14SFEAI

That model number is for an air handler (indoor unit) and not associated with tonnage. Air handlers are more often rated according to CFM and auxiliary heat.

In order to get the tonnage you would need to look at the model number of the outdoor unit (likely a heat pump). Typically tonnage is expressed in 1000s of BTU/hr, i.e. 24 = 2.0, 30 = 2.5, 36 = 3.0, etc.

My system uses a permenant air filter. It's missing. It's a Ruud Model UBHC-21J18SHG. What size filter should I put in this system?

The Ruud UBHC-21J18SHG has a nominally 21" cabinet width. So the needed filter is 19.75" x 21" x 0.375" (502 mm x 533 mm x 9.525 mm). The Ruud part number for the filter is 54-23217-03 .

The specifications sheet for the Ruud UBHC series air handlers is available here: http://www.coburns.com/images/PDFs/h22-517rev1.pdf . The filter size information is on page 3 and page 12.

I've found the filter at one online vendor: http://www.patriot-supply.com/products/showitem.cfm/RHEEM_68_101807_03 . (This is a common filter that fits several manufacturer's air handlers.)

I hope this helps.

I have a Ruud Model # UACC-036JAS. Any idea on

Hi, yes the number you are showing me 036 indicates its a 3 ton unit. For every ton of cooling, you will have 12,000 btu's of cooling. 36 divided by 12=3 ton unit. Its showing me also its a Ruud Handler 2.0 ton which would be a Model# UACC-024JAS? If your mobel number is the one you gave me, UACC-036JAS, this is a 3 ton unit, absolutely no questions. I hope I have been of help to you. I am a licensed air conditioning / Refrigeration /Heating Contractor. Let me know if I have been of help.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7
PS If this is a split system with the indoor air handler and condenser outdoors, both coils must be the same tonnage for it to work for you properly. You can't have a 2 ton indoor evaporator coil with a 3 ton condensing unit.

Need to change a filter, can't find it?

Found it, I could kick myself for not reading all the labels on the air handler unit itself.  If you look in the middle of the unit where the power is connected you'll see a small door that says filter access.  Two thumb screws hold it in place and behind it is a washable black mesh filter, slides out.

Ruud air handlers

Check the name plate amperage on the air handler. The air handler only has the blower motor as its main current draw. #12 wire is rated for 20 Amp service. If the amp draw by the unit supplied by the disconnect is under 15 amps it should be fine (but) once again check the name plate for ampacity rating.
