SOURCE: Toro walk behind model 20025 Gas running through the carburetor

Carb. float must be stuck open. First if you have no fuel in the tank it must all be in the crankcase.Drain the oil and refill and also check the carb as the float has to be sticking open. Hope this will help you. Donnyb60

SOURCE: Craftsman 5.5 Gold mower will not start

YOUR PROBLEM IS SIMPLE.
FIRST OF ALL THE HOLE IN THE PRIMER BUTTON MUST BE THERE TO POP BACK OUT EACH TIME YOU PRESS IT NOW AS TO THE GAS COMING OUT OF THERE
THE FLOAT IN THE CARB IS STUCK IN THE FILL POSITION AND WILL NOT LIFT ONCE THE BOWL IS FULL TO STOP THE GAS FROM FILLING OR YOU HAVE A PIN HOLE IN THE FLOAT ITSELF.UNDO THE NOT ON THE BOOTM OF THE BOWL WITH THE LAWN MOWER TILTED ON A 45 DEGREE ANGLE SEE IF YOU CAN MOVE THE FLOAT UP AND DOWN IF IT IS FREE MOVING SPRAY THE WHOLE AREA CLEAN WITH CARB CLEANER AND REASSEMBLE TRY TO START ,IF STILL THE SAME PROBLEM YOU WILL NEED TO REBUILD THE CARB AND INSTALL A NEW FLOAT

SOURCE: Black and decker cordless lawn mower CMM1200

i had the exact same problem and i went into the hand switch box (the box on the handle with the lever attached to it) and cut out the safety switch and then took the two wires that were on the safety switch and soldered them to two poles of a heavy duty toggle switch. That fixed the problem for that year but one year later i.e. now, theres another problem with the mower and i can't figure out what it is. I have broken this thing down to the smallest parts and still can't figure out what is wrong. Bottom line try to fix it with the switch solution but don't buy another one. BLACK AND DECKER SUCKS!!!!

SOURCE: nothing happens when you turn on the lawn mower

Check your seat, drive safety switches. Can you turn the engine with jumper cables attached to the starter? It won't start, but should turn over, one of your safety switches is not working.

Batteries need to be kept warm and charged,on a regular basis, this is where a "Float Charger" comes in handy to monitor battery voltage while in storage ,I'd bet the ranch your battery is toast, but any auto parts store could LOAD test it for you ,Good luck !

Scag tiger cat wont start

I would put new plugs in change the oil put a new in line gas filter in. After this tune-up check for spark by leaving the plug out on the moter body crank it over if the spark is hot you know its a gas problem also check for any grounding by starting it at night then looking around to the engine to see if its grounding out. Try these simple things. Do not change anything on the moter without doing these things first. Good luck

You got the bulk of contamination out of the tank. The lines will burn off. Try a higher octane gas. Drain any visible lines.

The riding mower has been used in June. Now when I try to start it I cant. I have checked the battery, gas, etc. before trying to start it. What can I do now? Thanks

put gas right into the carburetor and see what happens. if it doesn't do anything then you have a spark issue, if it runs until the gas you just put in runs out then it is a carb issue. sometimes just priming the carb with gas will get it to run again too

does it have a fuel tap or not, if it doesnt then the fuel that was left in the carby has gone to jelly or harder ,a carby service should do the trick and save you money in the long run
