SOURCE: 1974 60hp johnson outboard won't run on full throttle.

Carbs probably need to be cleaned and re-built. Common problem in outboards that havent been run in a while

SOURCE: 1974 johnson outboard motor 25hp stalls when hiting high end

Not familiar with that specific motor but had similar vintage smaller HP Johnsons. From my experience it sounds like it could be that the high speed carb adjustment is too lean. What I would try is running the backing off the high speed screw 1/4 turn to 3/4 turn, then test. If works better, screw back in in 1/8 turn increments until the problem recurs, then back out 1/4 turn and leave it there.

SOURCE: 1974 Johnson 70 hp outboard, quits on acceleration.

It sounds like your motor is starving for fuel. At an idle, you have adequate flow to keep the engine running. When you call for more fuel...you sputter and quit. Could be a clogged filter or trash in the line or in a jet. Yes you will have some air in the bulb, but not a great deal. You could be sucking air at a hose connection (loosing some prime)...try this, start the engine and slowly accererate, have someone pump the bulb as you accelerate, see if the engine works properly while doing this test.

For Evinrude service manuals or Evinrude Johnson owners manuals for 1999 models and prior, please contact the Ken Cook Company at (414) 466-6060 or click here to be directed to their website Antique Literature. On older literature, original printed copies may no longer be available. When this occurs, an effort will be made to fulfill your order with a machine copy reproduced from a master file.

This says it is 1974

What year is a johnson 4 hp outboard serial number b 7643180 model number bj4brccs

To get the year of Johnson and Evinrude outboards use the word "INTRODUCES". Each letter corresponds to "1234567890" respectfully. It's best to check with a model year reference book, but this motor's model number contains "CC" which would indicate it's a '88.

Any idea where I can download a service manual for Johnson outboard model J50PLSSM year2000

Hi, thanks for posting your Question..

Unfortunately, the service manual for your Johnson outboard model J50PLSSM year2000 is not available anywhere online. The manufacturers of this Unit did not make it available. I went further searching and couldn't find any.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer of your Johnson outboard model J50PLSSM year2000 via phone or e-mail and request for the service manual from them. They might give it to you or direct you to a dealer where you can get the service manual.

This is the best you can do to get the service manual you are requesting for.

Hope it helped.

Good luck.
