Seems there are a lot of people asking this and no one has an answer ?
Im using Dreamweaver MX on a vista laptop (Web design course) but when I try to create a table the program says I have a sharing violation in the usersappdata oamingmacromediadreamweavermxconfigurationobjectscommon able.htm
Some say delete the commond dir and recreate it which works once, then gives you the message again?
Any idea how to stop this ?
I have full admin rights on the laptop and the sub dir is read only but wont change back to read write ?
First of all, you should go to your antivirus settings, then choose
"Scan accessed files", click "Advanced". Click then "Exclude path from scan"
and choose folder where your Dreamweaver site is stored.
I think, this issue must be included in both antivirus definition and Adobe docs.
This happens when the program is shared by two applications and a sharing conflict arises. If you are using another antivirus go its settings.
I made a tutorial that shows how to fix it here: http://www.funkytower.com/2008/09/22/dreamweaver-mx-and-vista-fix-insert-tables-best-fix/
I've written a few on this before, but this seems to be the best fix. You more than likely won't get an answer because there are still alot of people using XP and they don't have this issue.
The fix is basically this: going to the program root folder and finding and modifying the function for inserting a table (which is either or both c:\program files\macromedia\dreamweaver mx\configuration\objects\common and/or c:\users\your user name\appdata\macromedia\dreamweaver mx\configuration\objects\common) This file happens to be a simple html file, so it's easy to tweak.
The tutorial's URL I gave above will give you all the details.
Here's a solution I've seen in many forums, that worked for me.
Find the Dreamweaver.com application file
(on my computer it's here C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004)
Right click on the app file, and choose "Properties"
Click on the "Compability" tab
Compatibility mode - change to Windows XP
Privilege level - click on Run this program as an administrator
Click "Apply"
Dreamweaver runs fine for me after doing this

- Sorry, my answer was for Dreamweaver MX 2004, not Dreamweaver MX (didn't realize they are different products). I'm not sure how to delete my previous submission

Good morning, I am attempting to open a file created in Microsoft Excel that is/was on a thumbdrive. I receive an error message stating " cannot be accessed. The file may be corrupted, located on a server that is not responding, or read-only. I am using a mac Excel 2004 version 11.5.6
This file isn't "read-only" and I haven't installed or deleted anything. Other files created using the same program open fine. I have tried rebooting my computer.
I dragged a copy of the file to my desktop thinking that is was too big for the thumb drive with the same results. I have only used this thumb drive on the mac and cannot for the life of me figure out how it might have become corrupted.
