There must be a cycle malfunction or a short or some sort in the controls.... you'd have to take most of your dishwasher appart to fix this, but make sure to turn off the breaker/fuse to this apliance befor taking anything appart.... it would probably be best if you'd turn the breaker/fuse off untill you have this problem resolved... this probleme/malfuction may be a fire hazard!

Frigidaire FDB520RHB Dishwashers : We bought this dishwasher about 3 months ago. Today I ran the washer before I left to do errands and when I returned, I believe the washer had finished its cycle. But...

Try to run the dishwasher on a short cycle like rinse and see if it finishes the cycle.

It is likely the heater or hot water temperature is not reaching the desired level and this could cause the extended wash cycle. Feel water temperature inside dishwasher after some time. If cold then it is the heater not working. Perhaps try without Heat Dry Cycle. That will also extend the cycle if heater is not working well.

see cycle diagrams in the page 2 of this sheet. Gives you and idea how Heater Delay affects cycle times.

Yes it's most likely related. Your dishwasher dumps all the debris it washes off the dishes into the garbage disposal. I'm not a dishwasher distributor so I can't tell by the model number just what dishwasher you have.
Most people dump little thing in the disposal through out the day with out thinking about it or running the disposal, try running the disposal while your running the water to warm it up.
If your dishwasher has a built in garbage disposal, then from what you've described I would say something either a small metal utensil or a piece of glass has gotten down into the dishwasher's disposal and damaged the blade.
If your dishwasher doesn't have a disposal then it's most likely gotten into the pump impellor and broken off some off the teeth.
Another thing I've run into is that the lines inside the dishwasher get holes worn into them, either from the hot water going through them or the spray, I don't know which is the cause. Pull the trays out turn the top one over and check the line for damage. While the trays are out check the other lines and the pump for visible signs of damage.

Dishwasher doesn't clean well

Hello,
Just got done working on my wife's after she holler at me for the same problem...
Found that there was a ton of **** at the bottomjust inside the door. Also the float switch, which looks like and unsidedown cup at the bottom front of my dishwasher had goobs of olf food up underneath it. The spray arms were full of undisolved soap, paper, and plastic. Beats me how that got through the filter, but it did...
Also found that the bottom spray arm cap is broken...ordered parts for everything from repairclinic.com and with shipping it was less then fifty bucks...new spary arms, ends for the rack rails that were broken, the bottom spray arm cap...totally redoing the insides...
Then washed it out with a strong (couple of cups) of clorox. Then a cycle with just dishwashing detergent...my wife is happy!!! and will be happier once I install the new parts...

My dishes come out dirty and glasses are cloundy.

#1 check the upper spinner arm to see if it is clogged with particles if it is, clean the holes outi f they get clogged the arm-sprayer will not clean the upper rack
#2 if it is not clogged got to your local Grc.chain and purchase a bottle of dishwasher cleaner for about 8.00 follow all instructins on bottle make sure water is hot by running hot water tap closest to dishwasher.use it in an empty dishwasher. You will be amazed how clean your dishes will come out after the first wash

Water fills up dishwasher after complete maybe a day or two later

Sound like the hot water sonenoid is stuck in the open position. Locate this solenoid and tap it lightly with a small hammer while the hot water is open. If it does not stop it will beneficial to have this part replaced. I hope this will help.

Sounds like dishwasher is running but no water coming out (there are no broken pipes or leaks)

I had the same problem. The motor is working (humming) and my dishwasher goes through the whole cycle without water. I googled it and found it on a website. Sorry I don't remember which website. Basically, it said to put some hot water in the bottom of your dishwasher and add some citric acid. I added 2 small packets (2 oz each) and filled the bottom of the dishwasher with hot water until it covered the motor or the drain of the dishwasher and left it overnight. The next day my dishwasher started and ran perfectly fine. That was over 4 months ago and I have not had any problems.
