SOURCE: Bread does not rise

Bread with a sunken top is likely to be a problem with the Panasonic Bread Machine. This is probably the result of too much fluid and some overactive yeast. First try a bit less fluid. If this does not work, a bit less heat, and a bit more salt should inhibit the yeast. Good luck.

SOURCE: The flour I am using in All purpose - the book

If you want really good bread you need to ditch the all purpose flour. It will always be more dense and short compared to bread flour. Be sure to buy a bag of flour that says "bread flour" on the bag.You will get a more normal looking and tasting bread.

Alot of folks have bread machines but get confused by what flour to use. Unless you are baking whole wheat bread, you need to select a flour from the grocery store that is clearly marked : "Bread Flour" Don't be confused by all the choices of "all purpose flour" "bleached flour" "unbleached flour" etc. .............Just be sure you choose a flour that says: BREAD FLOUR.

Benefits of flour,

Definitely , absolutely NOT! NEVER EVER put flour on burns.
This can pull the skin away and cause a terrible amount of pain and possible infection. Cool water on superficial burns, and other burns cover with a clean cloth and seek medical aid at once!!!!!!

If you put your hand in plain white flour after a burn, will that prevent burning and blistering?

No. no no and no. Flour will temporarily stop bleeding but should NEVER be used on a burn. Mild burns should be held under cold running water for a few seconds. carefully dried and sap from an aloe vera plant. Then covered to keep out air and germs. Blistered burns should always be covered with a clean cloth and medical dought . And never puncture a blister. It helps to keep the wound clean. Cover it ligtly and seek medical aid.o

Why do you need to sift flour? can i skip this when i am baking?

Sifting aerates the flour. It also helps the flour absorb liquid more evenly. It lets you measure flour properly by making the density at a standard level. Basically, its pretty important.

The flour I am using in All purpose - the book states it is ok to use in Canada. I also tried AP flour then tried a loaf with AP flour and added wheat gluten...still heavy.
