Re: Autorun file

Is there and U3 software installed on the device? could you post the contence of th INI file for us to see?

it sounds like you have a program on the pendrive autorunnig when you connect the pendrive this could be some software that can with the drive from the manufacture or something more nasty like a trojan. if you really want to fix it copy everything you want off the drive then format it, this is the quick dirty way of fixing the problem but if you have a U3 style smart disk the autorun software will stay intact.

How 2 delete file autorun in my system without appearing in futur

When your computer automatically creates a "autorun.inf" or "autorun.exe" file on your pen drive, you have a virus. This is the way it multiplies itself in order to infect other computers. First, do a virus check and disinfection procedure on your computer (use a strong antivirus, like Kaspersky - they have 30-day free trial). After that, plug in the device, and now try to format it. It should work, if your computer is not too affected.

When my pen drive is connected to PC,it opens all by itself; any help would be greatly appreciated !

You can tune this behaviour using the free tool TweakUI PowerToy (for XP and Vista), or you can look up how to disable autorun for USB devices.

Another way is to use the group policy, as detailed in this post:

This is a recommended option to thwart those viruses and malwares which do actually diffuse using USB keys, as well as foil black-hat techniques such as 'USB seeding'.

Autorun a .exe automatically off a USB drive.

Open Notepad Type in: [autorun] open=PStart.exe action=Run PStart Program icon=PStart.exe label=My Portable PC Save the file as autorun.inf Put the file in the root of your USB flash drive The next time you insert your removable drive into your PC, the specified program will autorun from the USB drive
Of course you use your own names at the Commands.

Unable to remove virus

Try Trojan Remover, Alot of times virus scanners will pick up autorun.ini files on a memory cards and assume them to be a virus. If Trojan Remover doesn't find anything, then its probably nothing. AVG, NOD32, and Avast are known for false alarms

Computers restarts on inserting usb pendrive problem

The reason is simple, once some virus has infected the pen drive and has created autorun entries, it can run any-kind of task through auto-play feature.

So to fix it, we first of all need to Disable Autoplay on all removable drives. see the following link

After this, Insert the pen drive, do not open the drive or double click on it, simply insert it. Now its time for some cleaning by removing Virus created autorun entries, see this following link for removing autorun entries.

That is it, its done. But if you still face problem with the drive, format the pen drive. We hope you find it useful.
