Why no sound when I connect Sony Vaio to Sony Bravia LCD,perfect picture?

You have to set the playback device on your Vaio to the TV instead of the laptop. You can do this in the Windows control panel under "Sound"

Check for loose contacts in power outlet, RC cable, jack and socket. In order to ensure, it is not caused by the input device, connect a DVD player

Sony Bravia sound works with rocker switch but not cable remote

Since your specifying cable remote I take it that your not using the remote that came with the Sony Bravia. Not all remotes will operate all functions of all devices. The cable remote may not have the correct coding for the TV your trying to control.

Change voltage from 120v to 240v sony bravia 37L4000

I think that Sony Bravia are sold with dual voltage, 110V and 220V. All 220V devices work also on British 240V network.

If an electronic device is not compatible with the 240V/220V network, then the PSU must be replaced.

In your case the unit should be dual voltage, compatible with 220/240V networks. Just ensure checking the user manual, or the tag at the back of TV.
All you need in that case is an adapter that can be purchased at any local electrical shop (eg. Curry's if you are in UK).

Regards.

Sony Bravia 32 inch HD LCD tv has vertical lines going down 2/3 of screen. No idea what problem is. Tv is less than a year old, but I have lost the receipt. Anyone had this problem or know what may be...

We had a similar issue although our Sony Bravia was 21 months old. We were told by an engineer that the panel has failed and that the cost of replacing it would be about 900. We were also told that this is a very common fault and that the "normal" failure time was within 18mths to 3 years. If you registered your TV purchase with Sony, it might be worth contacting them with the serial number to see if you could get it repaired under guarantee. We have now bought a TV with a 5 year guarantee!!! (not a Sony!!!!)
