Question about The Computers & Internet

Open Question

I have been loading books for about 4 years now. Recently I tried to load a book and my Kobo Arc when I came to the my library number there is a cursor and a blank blue page so that I cannot sign in.

At the bottom of my page it says "The new OverDrive is coming Soon" but when I press that I get Tab limit reached. Can't open a new tab until you close one. I don't know what to do for that.

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Run a search with your anti-virus/anti-malware software. It sounds like you may have been hijacked. Check the web for a program called hijack. You can run the program and it will create a log file that can be posted at the Major Geeks website. They will help identify possible problems. You can also try out programs such as SuperAntiSpyware, or Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware. They are both rated well for keeping junk out of your system.

SOURCE: everytime I open a second tab in internet explorer

You most likely have a problem with pre-installed ADD-ONS, like YAHOO COMPANION TOOLBAR or something like it. Try this:

1. Launch IE without the add-ons by clicking Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons).

2. Click "Tools" from the toolbar and then select "Internet Options".

3. Click the "Programs" tab, then the "Manage Add-ons" Button.

4. This will display a list of add-ons. The problem add-on(s) is probably one of the ones with “(Not Verified)” in the publisher field. If you click on the entry, you can set the add-on to enable or disable. Disable each “(Not Verified)” entry until you find the add-on that was causing the problem.

SOURCE: safari tabs not working right

You should be able to change the settings for that in your options, something like [ open new pages in a new window ] Let me know what you find out, have'nt used Safari in quite awhile, most all later browsers have this option.

SOURCE: The device has been working

Probably sometinng got corrupted on the book, you can try a soft reset to see if the issue is fixed, if not you will need to do a hard reset, this will set the reader to factory settings and remove all data:

Note: Make sure the reader is at least half charged.

To Soft Reset:
1. With the reader disconnected from the computer, hit the reset at the bottom of the reader for 3 secons
2. Slide the power switch, the screen will blink and will show "Opening Book". Allow the reader to load and see if the problem still persist

To Hard Reset:
1. Hit the reset button at the bottom of the reader for 3 secons
2. While the reader shows "Opening Book" press and hold at the same time the number zero "0" and the down arrow on the directional buttons until "Reset All" appears
3. The reader wil laskyou to press the number 5 to proceed
4 Reader will go off, now you can turn it on and allow it to load this time.

Kobo problems

If the books have been loaded from Kobo, you can go to their site and load them again (for free). If not, you would have to get them again from other sources and may have to pay for them again.

My kobo wont open the book, keeps loading but does not open

Does your Kobo turn off and on normally? Or is it stuck loading the book and totally not responding? If so, reset your Kobo. Look on the bottom edge of the Kobo - see the little pinhole? Stick a paper clip into there until you feel it push against a little switch. Remove the paper clip.

Is the Kobo working, but simply can't open a book? If it's only affecting a particular book, try deleting it and downloading it again.

After factory reset of my kobo glo, I couldn't get back my books that I ?

First make sure your books are really (still) in your account. Log into and check your library. Here's a direct link to the library page: Sign in to Kobo with

If you don't see your books there, you didn't buy them under that user account, or they're been removed from your account. Call Kobo support in either case.

If the books are there, make sure your Kobo eReader is also logged in using the same account. To do that,
1 - Open the menu
2 - Tap Settings
3 - Tap Account

Under 'Signed in as', you should see your user account. If not, tap in Sign in and log in. After that you can sync your library with your account from the menu again.

I have a Kobo Glo. I use the Adobe digital system to download all my books primarily from the public library . I've had no problems (got this in June) . Now when I tap the sync tab I get an error message....

are you sure you have not exceeded your memory capability? If it has it will bump a book every time you add a new has to to load the new one each time ..may require a larger micro memory card...OR you could have dropped a driver from the adobe file and checking settings. you may have to do updates on it..Or you have a problem with syncing ..again that may be just an update to KOBO default settings.Hope these can help support can help as a last resort ..GOD BLESS

I can't download my ebooks onto my reader, I have a bunch of books on my computer from kobo and I've tried everything I can think of to transfer them to my reader, loaded adobe digital, trying to load them...

Most readers have their own unique email address. You can try to send some books to that email address and see if they become available to the reader that way. Could take a while if you have a bunch of books though. The email address is in the settings of your reader. Depending on the reader you have it will be in a different location.
