Marklin train

Take wires from the track and place directly on the motor contacts. See if it tries to move. If motor tries but won't turn, could need an oiling of the bearings or the gears have jammed.
Another question - is it DC or DCC? If you put a DC train on a DCC line it will buzz, visa versa it won't usually do anything.
If DC, then above solution will help fault find.

How do I control Marklin CS2 from Mac PC

You need an ethernet connection between your PC and the CS2, a simple ethernet cable will do.. However, to actually communicate between PC and CS2 you need a program that generates the right protocol like Rocrail, Win-digipet, or Train Control.

I bought a marklin steam locomotive where the wheels are frozen up or not moving at all. Any help ? Ho can repair it. Thanks

If the wheels don't move even when you try to "slide" them with your fingers, the possible problem is with the motor brushes: with a pair of tweezers gently push the springs that hold the brushes (there is one cooper brush and a carbon brush, on the motor). Remove the brushes and replace them by new ones (available from any Marklin dealer). Notice that there are 2 brush models - for old motors and new motors (these ones use 2 carbon brushes instead). Hope this helps. Best!

Where do ! get power to turnout?

What scale track?
If it a remote switch you will need to wire up a remote switch control,
taking power from your power source/transformer.

I have three older marklin locomotives that are experiencing the same problem. As power is applied they start to chatter more and more loudly and will not run at full power. Sometimes they do this...

Probably the springs of the inverter unit are broken or too old. If you replace them by new Marklin springs, it shoud work. Notice that they must be the correct Marklin springs: any other springd probably won't work because their tension is not the correct one.

Hi I have an old Marklin HO M track from when I was younger but I cannot remember how to wire up the track, singals, turnouts, crane, etc. is there a book I can buy to help me out. Thanks.

You may want to try at this site: http://www.marklin.com/tech/ It is a tech page for Marklin products. I did not dig into the page but it looked like it may have something to help you.
Good luck.

I have power to the track and the controller, but not the train.

I assume you have the Treetop Tender car on the track? The treetop tender is car that makes the electrical connection between the track and the train.

1. Use a volt meter across the track. You should have about 10.5VDC on the track (anywhere on the track)
2. Even without the Loco on the track, the Treetop Tender should light up if you have power to the track. If you have power and the tender does not light. Check the brushes located between the wheels on the tender. These are the motor brushes that pick up the current from the track for the train set. Make sure they are contacting the track.
3. Add the loco to the track and plug in the large black plug from the tender to the loco. Turn on the power and press forward. The train should start rolling.

Try all the functions, bells, ho ho ho, all aboard etc ..

Add one car at a time and make sure that each one lights up before moving on to the next.
