Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100

1 Answer

Problems with software (i think)

My Bbery 8100 Pearl, is working ok, but very slow. Some of the buttons work, sometimes it needs to be pushed a little bit harder, when transmitting. It keeps hourglass, hangin' too long, when doing things. I just got it, it's brand new, i've updated the software but it's the same. Does anybody have a solution, or recommendation, or some diagnostic software, defragmenter to speed it up a little.
Thanx

Enable memory cleaning by going to Settings >> Options >> Security >> Memory Cleaning

Also remove all applications you have installed since you bought it, one application may be causing the issue.

Remove any custom themes you have dowloaded, these will always tend to slow the OS down, genuine blackberry themes work the best.

You could also try wiping the phone and re-activating. If you do not have your own Blackberry server, then contact the phone company and they can do this remotely.

Blackberry Pearl 8100 (unlocked TMobile) camera exposure AWFUL

download the DLL drivers and dsktp-mngr should start working again and you can update your software, although for the camera, i think that might be a hardware issue compared to a software issue.

My pearl 8100 will not recharge the battery

Three things: 1 ) it could be your port is bad
2) it could be your charger

The best thing to do is contact your service provider, if none contact bbery.

Blackberry 8100 -- will not work properly in that it will come on but no buttons work or the ball. Just stopped working suddenly. It has been dropped or gotten wet.

first remove the battery and let it sit for 5 minutes and put the battery back in. the will completely reboot the software.
see if it corrects the problem.
if not you might need to reinstall the software on your phone.

Pearl roller ball

It might be a case where the track ball has some dirt or debris underneath it. First, turn the device off. Next, press down firmly on the track ball while at the same time rolling it in every direction. Hopefully that will knock loose any debris. Another tip to try is to wet your thumb with a little water and do the same thing.

If those two options don't work, you may try taking out the track ball and blowing out the slot with some compressed air. Below is a link that shows how to remove and clean the track ball:

BlackBlerry 8100 Trackball

I was having issues with my trackball as well....I ordered a new one, it was $12 and that included the shipping from amazon.com.

There is a little aluminum foil piece underneath your ball, and it's probably bent and broke. Pop the ball out and check it out
