How do i get the camera settings to work with a Mac Safari browser

I get the message "The browser is only available in JPEG mode"
which means there must be a setting on the camera that will allow me to see the video on my macintosh computer's Safari browser. Can you help?

Cant program remote

I'm going to assume you are meaning that you are unable to set the "target temperature" for the thermostat?

This remote control system can be thermostatically controlled when the transmitter is in the THERMO mode (THERMO must be displayed on the screen). To set the DESIRED room temperature, press the MODE button to place the transmitter into THERMO mode, then press the UP or DOWN button to select the desired
room temperature. The highest SET temperature is 99 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius).

I can't connect my I P number to my computer what is the problem?

First CMD black message box opens....
this will give all ip address's on the network

if you ping192.168.0.1 should be your router address ONLY
you should get sent(4) received (4) message

This is sending a pulse to the address and listerning for a reply (like an echo effect)

Make sure network card is installed and leads plugged in to correct ports from modem to ethernet cable etc......before you connected to net.
Also make sure the network card is enabled for signal to interact properly,

Make your ip address
you can have up to 199 address's available for future expantion...

network settings should be saved once added and machine will need a shut down & restart to save and embed them in its memory,

if your ping gets threw fine check the network adapter stauts to see packets moving,ie , open internet page and surf, then look at packets sent and received.............

I bought a Quick 1.3MP Web Cam Night Vision which the box said would work on MAC 10.4 and above. HOWEVER the instructions say the software disc is only for PC's. How do I install this???? I want to...

I have the exact same problem, and this is the second web camera from them I've purchased. The packaging, the manual, and their website, all state that the camera is both, Mac (10.4 or above) and PC compatible. When I contacted Gear Head's support people the only thing they said was that if I needed to download a new or updated driver for the camera I could do so at their website, etc. When I went to see if could download a Mac version of the driver for the camera, there was none available. Only the Window version was available ... Apparently a Mac version doesn't exist. Because the camera (despite all of the evidence to the contrary) is not in fact, Mac compatible. If you can figure out a way to get it to work somehow, (using CrossOver or something, maybe ...) please let me know.

Trying to port forward requests to the IK-WB21A webcam. From inside the house it works great. From outside, port forwarding port 8001 to 80 and I get NO response. Tried tcpdump and there is no response...

What are you using to view the Camera? Is this the only IP camera you are viewing/.accessing on the network? If it is not, are you using different IPs in the non-DHCP pool.
Typically you do not have to set-up port forwarding to gain access to the camera within the network. Normally port forwarding is set-up when you are outside your network and need to gain access to different applications/devices in your network using the same static IP address.
Let say you have a camera ip on
You can connect to the camera with your web browser inside your network with the IP (obviously), but if you have the camera set up to only be triggered on a specific port (other than the browser's default 80) let's say 100, then you would enter
If the only thing on your network is the camera that you want to access from outside. you would setup in your router to route all incoming requests from port 80 (which is the web browser default) to the IP of the camera. Sometimes routers ask for a range just enter 80 to 80.
If the camera is working on a different port like 8001 then you would port forward 8001 to 8001 to IP You would enter in your web browser (off-site) your static IP But I would suggest if the camera is the only thing you will be trying to gain remote access to, then leave it at 80 and set up forwarding for port 80 to the IP.
That way you can set up a free DNS service and not worry about paying extra for a static.

Unable to connect remotely to dvr unit

I'm presuming you are using Internet Explorer. You may need to change your browser's security settings to solve this problem.

Using Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS, Internet Options, Security, Local Intranet, then move your slider all the way down to Low and click Apply.

Viewing software

The WV-NP244 camera requires an ActiveX Plugin. Microsoft Internet Explorer for Mac does NOT properly support ActiveX.

The specs for the WV-NP244 state that you must use a Windows PC with Internet Explorer.

You may want to try Boot Camp, or other dual boot/Virtual software emulation software to be able to run Microsoft Windows.
