Machine is almost 3 years old...put in cleaning tablet (cleaning prompt just came on)....after about 3 minutes into cycle, no water seemed to be going though the machine....is kept making noises like cycling when it turns on, but no water coming out of spout....then finally malfunction 8 lit up. Cannot open drawer either. please advise....machine has been great up to this point and I take care of it ++++ with filter changes and cleaning promptly.

Couldn't put the drawer back, turned on and off a few times, drawer went back, but still have Mulfunction 8 code and noise it makes is very starange, like something is trying to push something in and it doesn't work....(squeaky plastic sound?).

To fix this problem you need to clean the layers and layers of coffee mud off the plates that dispense the spent grounds into the hopper. My suggestion is to do this major muck cleaning before you even put the cleaning tablet in. Get a flashlight and pull the trays out and have a look at the mechanism that dumps into the hopper. You will see the layers of gunk that need to be scraped off. Easiest thing to get in there is a finger to start, then place it next to your sink and clean it with a water jet from your kitchen faucet, provided your faucet will allow you to do that. Let the runoff go into the sink of course. After you get it cleaned up, then put the machine through the cleaning cycle. If you can't get the problem solved, the fix is a flat $200 from Capresso. The problem is the plastic arm that scraps the grounds off a flat round metal piece above the grounds tray. Contact customer service and they'll tell you how to clean it. Call Jura Capresso customer service at 800 220-5701.

I have an Jura Impressa S8 and the coffee it produces has always had a slightly oily flavor (a machine oil flavor). I have washed the machine several times by putting the tablet into the coffee grinder and that has not changed the result. I have also tried the unit with and without the filter, and different types of water (plain tap, distilled, externally filtered, etc). The oily taste is present regardless. I have also tried several different coffees from different sources (Peet's, Starbucks, other specialist producers brands, etc). The oily taste persists. Any suggestions?

I have run the clean process with the tablet 2 X , but the machine keeps beeping to be cleaned. I use brita filtered water & thought to decalcify the machine for the 1st time. Maybe that will help, but do you use the liquid that the manual says(durgol), or the decalc tablets Williams Sonoma says to use? Anyone else have their machine want to be cleaned over & over?
Aftter 2 years, my Jura Capresso S8 has just developed the same problem. I use the Claris filters, so I doubt it is a problem with calcification. The time before this, it made me clean it twice and then the message went away, not it keeps saying "Clean Unit" no matter what I try.
