Question about Dolphin Pool & Spa

Dolphin stopped running. Haven't had it for 2yrs Motor not working. I'd this covered under warranty

If none of this helps your problem could be in the power supply, cable or motor unit.

For units still covered under warranty you should first contact Maytronics for directions. They can sometimes troubleshoot the problem over the phone but if the issue is beyond simple phone support they can start the process of getting the unit repaired thru a warranty center which we are.

My dolphin advantage runs for a few minutes in each direction but then stops. When I reset it the impellor runs but the machine does not move, then all stops. What is happening?

The motor unit inside is probably failing. When the drive motor and/or impeller motor move you can assume the power supply and cable/electric connections are ok. Whether the unit is in or out of warranty you can either send it to a service center (which we are one) or try to repair it yourself. The motor unit for that cleaner is about $400 and when installed by a non-service center does not come with a warranty so you are better off sending it in for a complete diagnosis and estimate. Dolphin Interactive pool cleaner stops running

If the dolphin is falling backward when it meets the water line, there is an easy fix. The automatic pool cleaners often have this problem. The easiest solution is to remove the handle floats and attach an 8 oz weight to the bottom inlet cover.

Running it next to the pool is not very telling as it will shut itself off in that time anyway. Do you have access to another power supply to try with it? It is possible, though unlikely, it is the problem. It is more likely the motor pack and a new one is costly. You can also try the manufacturer at for answers. It may be the power supply but is more likely an issue in the motor pack. It may still be under warranty depending on the purchase date and model. Some have 3 year motor warranties.
