Kenmore Icemaker Leaking! Is the water control valve and the water inlet valve the same thing? Water is slowly leaking into the icemaker tray and causing build up. I just need to know which one to replace. Kenmore 106.56582500 Thanks, Terry

Hello! I have a Kenmore refrigerator model #10656576400. It stopped making ice for a while but then started up again. Now it is leaking water and filling up the tray underneath the ice cube mold. Is it...

The first thing to check would be the water fill valve located usually on the back outside of the unit where the water line comes in, these can start leaking water slowy into the icemaker. The icemaker itself tells the valve how long tostay opened, that can be adjusted by a tech or you may need to replace the icemaker

The ice maker stopped making ice

There are only three things that could be bad. First thing you need to check is your water shoot. This is the tube that expels water into the icetray. This could be clogged with ice. If so take a hairdryer and defrost the tube. That being said, your inlet valve is going bad. The reason it is freezing up is the inlet valve is leaking water slow enough to freeze the water shoot. This would also give you the sign that your inlet valve is going bad which is located on the back of the refrigerator where your water line is attached. If those are working properly than it is your icemaker. Normally the icemaker itself is not the problem. I hope I helped you.

Icemaker won't fill tray,

Was the inlet tube frozen. If so your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking and when the water reaches the freezer it freezes, blocking the inlet tube. Replace the water inlet valve.
You can Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

Maytag ice maker will not release cubes

Sounds like it has a " seeping " water valve . Only thing to do is replace the water inlet valve . There is a certain amount of water to go into icemaker at fill . A seeping valve will let water continually drip into icemaker , making large cubes which icemaker cannot dump . A larger amount of seeping , will overfill the icemaker , and drip into the freezer and floor .

Water Leaks from Ice Maker of Sub-Zero 642

Sounds like the water inlet valve to icemaker is leaking - not closing completely after filling the tray. Rare, but possible. Prove it by shutting off icemaker arm or switch. If that is the cause, the drip will continue.
If dripping stops when I/M is off, then it is ice blockage in I/M fill tube and or diverter funnel at end of ice tray. Remove I/M, clean ice from both, and re-assemble.
Replacing that valve (water supply to refrig connects to it in the back) should solve it.

Icemaker leaking causing icicles

Is it overfilling with water? If so, it may be an problem with the fill valve leaking slightly. I say slightly because if it were a large leak, the freezer would have frozen puddles in it. Also check the water chute to be sure the water is all going into the freeze tray. Sometimes they can work loose.

If the seam is leaking, there could be a crack in the housing - not sure that's repairable - sometimes epoxy will work (5 minute, 2 part) but it can be difficult for glue to hold on the type of plastic used in an ise maker housing.

Yes, the short tube that goes from the back of the refrigerator to the icemaker can freeze up solid preventing any more water to pass thru. this is caused by a bad water valve that is slowly leaking water to the icemaker.

Icemaker does not work

Hello Netmindr32,
You will need to replace your inlet valve. The problem is the water is slowly leaking into your icemaker fill line and freezing up. You will have a double inlet valve and the line going to your dispencer may be working fine but the one going to the icemaker is not sealing off. Be sure to defrost all the ice out after replacing the inlet valve. And please allow several cycles of your icemaker before it makes its first batch. It can take 2-3 cycles to fill lines and filters depending on your model. Lots of luck to you and please let me know if this helped you. Mca0824@aol.com
