How do I change the rotor button on my 99 Honda civic es. And do I have to change the cap also

rotor buttons normally just press on against a clip in the button
replacement of the cap depends on the corrosion on the contact points under each HT lead point in the cap and if the center carbon pin is worn or stuck
if the rotor button has a spring up to the cap then the carbon pin will be fixed but should protrude around 1/4 "
if it is level with the bakalite cap then replace the cap as well

Do i have a compressor reset button?

I've never heard, of a reset button on a fridge compressor. You have an overload and relay switch under a plastic cap. Most caps are black and made, of plastic. The compressor might be getting too hot, and shutting off. Be careful taking that cap off. I would recommend unplugging the unit, before removing that cap, or doing any electrical work under that cap, unless you know what you are doing. Call a technician.

Want start after rain

Ignition system. Most likely coil. Check coil, rotor cap, rotory button (inside cap) plugs and wires. THe cap may have a crack that you can not see, so i would buy a new cap and button just to be sure. The reason is that when its damp outside, the spark tends to jump around inside the cap.

My 3.5 lt discovery distributor will not go on feels like the rotor button is stopping it any ideas

Hi,

Assuming that you have the correct cap, I'd take a look at the rotor itself. Make sure that it is seated correctly. If that's good, place a straight edge across the old cap and measure down to the button. Do the same to the new cap. Also check the inside dimensions of both caps and make sure that the line up notches are in the same position as the old cap. One last thing, make sure that the rotor cap button isn't stuck. This also would prevent it's fitting.

What order do plug wires go on distributor cap

Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Move #1 cylinder to where piston is up, and on the compression stroke (TDC). Easiest way to do this is with a compression tester on the #1 cylinder - rotor cap OFF. When you see the pressure build...you're on the compression stroke.
The rotor cap should be at the #1 cylinder firing position...simply re-install the rotor cap at this time - noting which button is #1.
Starting at #1 install the wire for the #1 cylinder onto the rotor cap...the next button (clockwise) on the cap should correlate to #8; the third button on the rotor cap is, cylinder #4..and so on.
work your way around the rotor cap until you have all 8 cylinder wires in place...ignition coil wire in the middle button.

Engine should start and run.

Hope this helps.

I have an old Grundig tv model t55540-ft. Yhere sees to be a problem with the power button. For the tv to work you must manually hold in the button

Old tvs have old caps and bad grounds. You must take the board out and inspect visually first and then check all caps..I would look for 160volt ti 250volt caps at 1mf to 4.7mf and maybe 10mf caps. Another cap would be the horizontal cap. About 160v to 200v 100mf cap. Replacing these will speed up on time. And remember to resolder all bad grounds especially those on heatsinks. You have to use a leaf blower after pulling the back cover to dust the board before removal.

Car wont start

do you have spark out of the coil into the cap? if so i would suggest removing the cap and testing for continuity between the center plug (coil input) and the spring loaded button on the inside also check the rotor, if you have no spark from coil at all be sure you have it wired correctly and be sure the coil wire did not get pulled apart in the ends please rate -jeff

Caps lock

Open up an email, or something else you can type into. Click the menu button, and select "enable multitap." Then go back to the menu and select "enable suretype." That took off the cap lock for me. I just wish I knew how it turned itself on to begin with!

Simple! Read warnings carefully! It said "remove lens cap and press SET button"! So remove the lens cap and then press the SET button (or arrow downward in the four directions button)! You don´t need to RESET anything...
