Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

Ive had this bluray player for 2 years and it was working fine, then one day i tried to turn it on and nothing happened. i checked if the fuse was blown but i appears to be fine. so there is no power...

hi,
there is possibility of two complaints.
1, The SMPS power supply fault
2. the mother board fault.
if the SMPS is faulty the you can rectify the problem. If it is with the mother board the you have to contact the manufacturer .
First of all you have to check the SMPS ( switch mode power supply). you have to check the voltages at it secondary stage. 5v, 12v, etc
switched-mode power supply (switching-mode power supply, SMPS, or simply switcher) is an electronic power supply that incorporates a switching regulator in order to be highly efficient in the conversion of electrical power. Like other types of power supplies, an SMPS transfers power from a source like the electrical power grid to a load (e.g., a personal computer) while converting voltage and current characteristics. An SMPS is usually employed to efficiently provide a regulated output voltage, typically at a level different from the input voltage
for checkin the SMPS voltaes you need a multimeter. And check the voltages at it secondary stage

ajin_g_45.gif

if there is no outputs from the smps then you have to replace the SMPS drive STR ic near the big capacitor. Also ty to replace the OPTO coupler ic. y have to check the all resistors near the ic.

Remember one important thing that the capacitor can hold charge for some time even if you disconnect the power. so after removing the power. remove the SMPS very carefully. discharged the capacitor using a bulb.
i have also added a video for SMPS working for you reference will hep you for repairing your one

ok

HOW CAN WE SOLVE LOAD PROBLEM OF ATX SMPS

First, I am not very good with acronyms, so what is an ATX SMPS.
I have a feeling it is an ATX style Power Supply which cannot handle a load. What are we talking about per voltage rail and where do you think the drain comes from?

Akai 25'' TV no power from SMPS. voltage available up to filter capacitor. No smps output. smps power transistor ok. Please responce nagarajak60@yahoo.com

try to check its high voltage section for axed HOT or flyback. Also check its regulator. Maybe start up resistor or check the chopper circuit. You should at least have an standby voltage on the secondary side.

Not working no lights coming on front panel ,i striped it put new paddles in it , plumbed it in turned it on nothing was working before striping it

When everything does'nt work the problem is usually esier to solve..it implies a faulty power source.

The fault may lie internal or external to machine. To rule out external machine fault try to use some other appliance on the same plug point if it works we know the probles lies within the machine.

If the problem lies within the machine, unplug power source and open the machine.determine where the power cable terminates within the machine. We are now going to check for breakages in the powe cable (that connect the machine to power source) You will require a multimeter. With the multimeter placed on continuity mode check for continuity between the plug point and internal terminating point, you need to perform the continuity test for both live and neutral in unplugged mode.

Next if the fault is ruled out in the cable the fault most certainly lies in the SMPS to check this we need to take a few precautions and carefully observe the power input and output points on the washing machines SMPS (Switch Mode PowerSupply) older machines use a transformer but it all boils down to correctly determining the input and output terminals.

Now with the multimeter in Volt meter mode(AC), carfully power the machine through AC Mains, ensure that the ground and machine are not damp (wet) without having physical contact with the machine you need to test the voltage across the input terminals (this should read around 110 to 220 (AC)Volts depending on the standards of your country) then check the voltage off the input terminals this should read between 20 and 80 Volts DC.

In most cases with your typical problem mentioned you will fail to receive an output voltage at this stage and can conclude that the SMPS is faulty.

If the SMPS is faulty you'd simply have to change it , in some cases though these have detachable fuses which blow off. In the lastter case you can try a fuse rep[placement.
This should solve your problem.

ok you open the pcb check the fuse first then replace it if faulty if it burns again then check 4 diodes then see if 200v big capacitor is expanded or not if so then replace it if not then check diodes after transformer if short then replace it

Computer power problem

Hello,
For solving your problem do the following:
1. Check that the power cable is connected properly to the monitor
2. See that the SMPS of the CPU is working
3. Check that the power output from the SMPS is upot 12V

If not change the SMPS it may be due to failure of SMPS.

HOW DO U KNOW THE CAPACITY OF AN COMPUTER SMPS (unbranded)

Maximum output of any smps is not based solely on the type of power switching transistors used. One of the parameters which will be crucial is the Ic (Max collector current rating). But this by itself isn't the lone determining factor either.

Other design factors which will come into play are the switching transformer, its size and windings. A smaller transformer and smaller wire gauge windings will generally mean lower max power output.

Max power output measurements probably require a set of load resistors, volt and amp meters, monitoring the 3.3, 5, 12 volt lines.

I'm not an engineer, but have had numerous computer power supplies apart, repairing some, junking some. Quality of construction or lack thereof is generally obvious. PC Power and Cooling probably builds high quality units. There are plenty of cheap, low cost power supplies which frequently die after a year or two, sometimes taking a motherboard down with it.
