How to put my computer to sleep mode

I do not recommend sleep mode for windows because it eventually causes windows files to corrupt because of in proper shutdown, forcing you to do a full install of the operational system.

I can not start laptop because it stays in sleep mode.

Do A "Cold" Boot...
Remove The Battery For 30 minutes, And Leave It Unplugged..

With No Battery in and No Charger Cord Plugged In Now, Press and Hold the Power Button Down For 30 Seconds.....

After 30 minutes, Replace Battery and AC Adapter and Attemt to power on "hopefully not in sleep mode"

Sleep problem

I've seen this on many Dell machines, and I've found no real fix for this. It seems that this function either works or it doesn't. You can do a restore back to a point that you remember it working properly, but eventually it will start doing it again. I've decided that this is a glitch with Dell's systems. You can also do a bios update from Dell's support site, sometimes this helps with the little glitch they pick up.
