30+ years ago we had the money & "need" to remodel. We added a MASTER BEDROOM SUITE W/fireplace, Jacuzzi bath and 13 skylights to the house... CROWN SOLAR
USED to retail out of SACRAMENTO, CA, (couldn't find them when chain broke).
DOUBLE insulated laminated GLASS, VERY heavy aluminum construction... 5 are fixed (don't open) and 8 are motorized. Power was fully planned and A TRUTH TRANSFORMER
was used to CENTRALLY POWER all the TRUTH motors
(because EVERY transformer uses power)....
Flexible conduit was installed from a (single as the)
MASTER TRANSFORMER... through every switch...
on to every SKYLIGHT MOTOR
. Every splice & connection
was soldered & heat-shrink wrapped.
(so that wire could be pulled in/out after the sheet rock & ceiling planks were in place (never needed... because we could).
Only fuses have ever operated were due to the weight of the glass causing the window top gasket to stick to the bottom frame...
2 of the bigger window switches had to be upgraded to "delay" fuses of the same rating (2 AMP).
They have added beauty & joy to our house...!!
(still loving them).
Only have 2 regrets...
1. Wish I had made them BIGGER
