First of all connect the Direct TV box to HDMI 2 and see if it works there. If it does then the next step is to connect the DVD player to HDMI and see if it wors there. If not then connect the DVD player to the TV using the component inputs and if the DVD player works on those. If it does then maybe the HDMI interface in the DVD player no longer works as it needs to communicate with the TV.

If the HDMI 1 is fine and HDMI 2 and 3 is not ....so does it mean that your TV is set on HDMI 1...If you wish to use HDMI2 or 3 you need press hdmi2 or 3 on the remote or some TV don,t have direct HDMI on remote so you need to press AV button to choose HDMI 1,2 or 3..
