Amana dryer model YNED7200TW will not start. there is power, but start button does nothing. Resetting breaker did not work. Any ideas?

Thermal Fuse

Item #2986 (OEM Part)
$10.70

Thermal fuse. If the dryer overheats, this device stops the flow of electricity to the heat source and/or the entire dryer. It is located on the blower housing and cannot be reset. The most common cause for overheating is a vent tube clogged with lint, a birds nest or other debris.

Power has gone off to the washing machine mid cycle, yet the dryer (which the washer is plugged into) does have power....please help

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Both the Asko built washer and dryer have internal fuses aside from the home circuit breakers for added safety.

Since the washer is typically plugged into the dryer, you'll want to check all the fuses and wires in both the washer as well as the dryer.

The 2 internal fuses for the Asko washer, (depending on the model, but generally in the same location) are located at the back next to the power cord...

i.e.

To remove and check the fuses you`ll need a flat/slotted screwdriver and place it in the slot of the fuse holder and turn them left 1/4 turn and pull out. (the image may differ from your's as I alluded to based on the model number)

**The above is an image for removing the dryer fuse, but the same procedure applies**

Once removed this is what you should see...

I would also suggest removing the top of the washer to visually inspect the condition of the wires as a poor connection can cause the fuses to blow.

i.e.

The replacement part is a 240v 15 amp slow blow fuse. part number will be as listed below and it is a complete kit available at "repairclinic.com"

Hope that answers your question or better yet solves the problem altogether.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck. Please take a moment to rate the info provided and a short testimony is appreciated.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

The dryer will not start. It does not have any power to operate. I checked the main breaker box and all is good there. What do you recommend? Thank you, Gordon Pearson [email protected]

The thermal fuse is located at the 2 o'clock position on the rear bulkhead. When it blows because of an air restriction or broken element, the dryer will not run. Check the dryer vent for blockage.

Hotpoint washer/dryer aqaurius stopd mid cycle with message F-01

f01 is a motor short circuit. you will probably need a new one and maybe the circuit board that powers it if all the lights went out unless the fuse is gone.

CANDY AQUAVIVA WASHER/DRYER

its either the motor or element gone, remove the back of the machine and remove the wires from each component mentioned. try the element first , MAKE SURE U TAPE UP THE REMOVED WIRES BEFORE TURNING THE MACHINE BACK ON , U WILL GET A SHOCK IF U DONT!!!. if it does not trip , then the element is gone. like wise do the same to the motor. just one more item to check is where the mains cable enters the inside of the machine. good luck
