Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

It depends on what is causing your red blood count to go up. Your best answer will come from your Dr. Blood letting is not the answer.

No, oxygen is carried by the red blood cells. White blood cells are part of your immune system

What causes low red blood count

Anemia can be caused by pregnancy (usually normal), disease (eg cancer), bleeding (eg menstruation) or an infection somewhere (eg kidneys).

Since it can possibly indicate something serious, pay attention to your doctor and go with that advice.

My haemoglobin level is 54 how bad is that

I am not a physician, but am an amateur doctor. You should be talking to a real one. From what I have studied for you, your level is actually the percentage of red blood cells to the total volume of blood in your body. You are at the high end of the scale. I am not sure if that is good or bad which is why you need to ask your doctor.

The hematocrit measures the volume of red blood cells compared to the total blood volume (red blood cells and plasma). The normal hematocrit for men is 40 to 54%; for women it is 36 to 48%. This value can be determined directly by microhematocrit centrifugation or calculated indirectly. Automated cell counters calculate the hematocrit by multiplying the red cell number (in millions/mm3) by the mean cell volume (MCV, in femtoliters). When so assayed, it is subject to the vagaries inherent in obtaining an accurate measurement of the MCV

Blood test came back low globulin 1.8 albumin/globulin ratio high at 2.7 what does this mean ?

You need to discuss these results with your medical provider. Getting medical advice over the Internet, without a full background history, is not good. Get your physician's advice and follow the treatment plan to the letter.
