This and your other posts indicate you probably do need specialist help. There are some quite heavy duty prescription pain killers available for arthritis pain but most of them have side effects and need a doctors supervision.

There are some other things which can usefully be done, like losing weight (reduces joint pressure) and aqua-exercising.

I do sympathise as I get osteoarthritis pain myself, although manageable.

If you have such access and can afford it, I'd ask the doctor for a referral to a specialist in arthritis pain management and treatment.

What is the best thing to take for arthritis?

There are different kinds of arthritis. You can take Advil or Aleve for temorary relief, but you should also be examined by a doctor to see what exactly you have, rule out other conditions, and make sure you are OK to take strong tablets.

It is well recognised that strengthening the neck and shoulder area by exercise also has a very important role for you, and you can get advice on that from

What is the difference between osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis?

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a condition that affects the whole joint including bone, cartilage, ligaments and muscles.

Osteoarthritis may include:

  • inflammation of the tissue around a joint

  • damage to joint cartilage - this is the protective cushion on the ends of your bones which allows a joint to move smoothly

  • bony spurs growing around the edge of a joint

  • deterioration of ligaments (the tough bands that hold your joint together) and tendons (cords that attach muscles to bones).

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that causes pain and swelling of the joints. The normal role of your body\'s immune system is to fight off infections to keep you healthy. In an autoimmune disease, your immune system starts attacking your own healthy tissues. In RA, the immune system targets the lining of the joints, causing inflammation and joint damage. RA usually affects smaller joints, such as the joints in the hands and feet. However larger joints such as the hips and knees can also be affected.

What do gloves called "Copper Hands" do?

If you have arthritis, there are a lot of false 'cures' on the market like copper bracelets, copper gloves, and herbs etc
As general rule, these remedies do not work
Arthritis can come and go periodically, or it can stay and get worse.
You can get flares where the swelling and pain are more severe.
Each time you feel pain... the arthritis is damaging the joint.
Each time the joint is damaged by arthritis, the loss cannot be recovered.
Frequently the symptoms appears in the hands. But they can appear anywhere in the body... shoulder, neck knees, etc
It is important to get medical treatment for your arthritis to prevent long term damage to joints and internal organs.

What causes arthritis? Nobody knows for sure.
What treatments are available for arthritis? First line drugs include motrin. Second line treatment can include methotrexate. Best treatment for severe arthritis can be injectables like humira.
All these medicines have side effects that can cause damage to other parts of body... so it is important to have periodic blood tests.
For example motrin can cause kidney damage and stomach problems. Stronger treatments can affect other parts of body,

I have arthritis. I discovered that chocolate causes flares. Other people find that dairy products cause flares. There is no proven link between food and arthritis that applies to everyone.
Stress is another factor that contributes to arthritis.
Fatigue and not enough rest can cause symptoms to feel worse.
Drink a lot of water.
Do aerobic exercise like swimming and stretching each day, 1 hour after taking motrin.

I suggest getting treatment from a doctor.
If a doctor is not available, then read as much as you can online and see if you can procure the proper medicine.
Arthritis can be managed with proper treatment, rest, diet and exercise. Good luck. I am still walking after having arthritis for 32 years

Deep pain in my right hip while walking

Symptoms of Hip Pain

Depending on the condition that's causing your hip pain, you might feel the discomfort in your:
  • thigh
  • inside of the hip joint
  • groin
  • outside of the hip joint
  • buttocks
Sometimes pain from other areas of the body, such as the back or groin (from ahernia), can radiate to the hip.
You might notice that your pain gets worse with activity, especially if it's caused by arthritis. Along with the pain, you might have reduced range of motion. Some people develop a limp from persistent hip pain.

Hip Pain Relief

If your hip pain is caused by a muscle or tendon strain, osteoarthritis, or tendinitis, you can usually relieve it with an over-the-counter pain medication such as Tylenol or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as Motrin or Aleve.
Rheumatoid arthritis treatments also include prescription anti-inflammatory medications such as corticosteroids, or disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs) like methotrexate and sulfasalazine.

Another way to relieve hip pain is by holding ice to the area for about 15 minutes a few times a day. Try to rest the affected joint as much as possible until you feel better.
If you have arthritis, exercising the hip joint with low-impact exercises, stretching, and resistance training can reduce pain and improve joint mobility. For example, swimming is a good non-impact exercise for arthritis. Physical therapy can also help increase your range of motion.
When osteoarthritis becomes so severe that the pain is intense or the hip joint becomes deformed, a total hip replacement (arthroplasty) may be a consideration. People who fracture their hip sometimes need surgery to fix the fracture or replace the hip.
Call your health care provider if your pain doesn't go away, or if you notice swelling, redness, or warmth around the joint. Also call if you have hip pain at night or when you are resting.
Get medical help right away if:
  • The hip pain came on suddenly.
  • A fall or other injury triggered the hip pain.
  • Your joint looks deformed or is bleeding.
  • You heard a popping noise in the joint when you injured it.
  • The pain is intense.
  • You can't put any weight on your hip.

Arthritis knee pain

First of all your doctor needs to distinguish between Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid arthritis. They require different treatments. He might also suggest pills for the pain such as paracetamol or diclofenac which are more effective than the cream. He might also refer you to an orthopaedic surgeon who can help you with specific joints.
