You have it on backwards. I had the exact same problem. Turn the fender around so that the arms that connect to the axel are pointing forward. They are going to be almost parallel to the ground. Easy Peasy lemon Squeezy.

on each end of the peice there will be a bolt on the in side of the car you need to remove the inside panels on do the bolts then the rest are plastic clips

It ccan be done but you need a tool to remove the trim not all the trim is replaceable and you can buy from the dealer the parts you need to do it but you don't want to do it yourself unless you don't mind getting your paint scratched up.

There are several screws inside the fender well that have to be removed and one in the pinch molding of the car that has to be removed the ones near the engine are snap in plugs and can be removed if you use a flat tip screw driver to remove the plastic push in locks. Remove them to get to the antenna.
