After getting windows updates, the laptop gets to stage 3 of 3 and keeps resetting itself, I can't load windows because whenever I do it automatically tries to complete the update, resets and repeats! The...

Start your system by pressing F8 during startup;Select "last know good configuration that works",It will most probably solve your problem.

If above thing doesn't work, repeat the same step by selecting "safe boot" and follow the instruction below

To remove Windows updates, there are two ways to do this:

1) Add / Remove Programs: Use the Add / Remove Programs tool in the Control Panel to remove the updates. Open it, and make sure the “Show Updates” box is checked (it’s located in the upper right of the tool). Scan through the list and see if you can find the updates you’ve mentioned below. Remove them if you see them. Reboot and see if you still have the problem. If you don’t find the updates listed here, you’ll have to use the second option below.

2) In your Windows XP Start Menu, go to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. The System Restore tool will start. Use that to restore your PC to a previous date – you should be able to select to restore to a time before those updates were installed. The tool will allow you to pick from certain times you can restore to. Pick the date and time that’s just before you installed the updates.

If neither of these fix the issue or remove the updates, then the problem is not something I can easily troubleshoot over email. There may be anything from hardware problems to network problems to CPU and process problems. To continue the troubleshooting, you’d be best off showing your PC to a local computer geek.

If removing the Windows updates fixes your problem, then we at least know the cause. If you’re really ambitious, you can reinstall those same updates one at a time to determine which one is causing the problem. At that point you can simply not install it, or keep an eye out for an update to the update!

My computer won't recognize the usb port when I plug in

  • Make certain that your version of Windows is up to date by visiting Windows Update. There have been updates to the USB support in almost every version of Windows, especially the 9x and Me versions.
  • Make certain that your system BIOS is up to date. BIOS support is an important part of USB support, and just like the operating system, there have been updates. Exactly where and how to get an updated BIOS will vary depending on the manufacturer of your computer - check with them.
  • Make certain that your USB hardware drivers are up to date. The drivers are the hardware-specific interface between Windows and the USB ports. Getting updates to these drivers will depend on the manufacturer of your computer, or the manufacturer of your USB port add-in if the USB ports are on an expansion card, so you'll need to check with them.
  • If you're running Windows XP, run the system file checker to ensure that Windows itself is not damaged: What is the System File Checker, and how do I run it?.
  • An up-to-date spyware and virus scan wouldn't hurt either.
  • If any software came with the devices you're having trouble with, make sure that's up to date, and installed properly.
The problem is that any or all of the above items could possibly impact your USB problems.

Microsoft Outlook '07 repeatedly crashing & restarting on its own.

If this a new problem try doing a restore to a date previous date where it worked. vista 64 does have problem in that not all older programs work with it and if they do they have bugs that cause your type of problem. My transfer to vista 64 was racked with your type of frustrations, but I have worked through most of them and have learned to work around the others. Update often because microsoft and others know there are  problems and they do want this system to work for everyone.  New updates come when complaints are made. Complain!

How to restore factory settings

Best bet is to do a system restore to a date before you have problems. Go into start>accessories>system tools>system restore. Your computer automatically creates restore points each time you log on..so once you are in system restore just pick a date that was before you had problems and your system will restore itself to that date...if you have any questions let me know..there are other options if that does not work so keep me updated..

Please rate with 4 diamonds.

Flash player problem

It could be, have you tried restoring your computer to an earlier date when you know that it was working okay. If you haven't loaded anything on your computer after this problem occured(programmes specifically), then do a system restore and see if it helps. It will restore your system files back to an earlier date. Go to Start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore.
Choose a date when you know that it was working alright then click on restore. The computer will restore your files to your chosen date and then it will reboot your comptuer.

I hope this helps
