This may not apply. There could be an electrical problem. But if you installed the bulb with your hand, the oil on your skin can cause the buld to heat excessively and fail. I suggest you use the packaging or part of it when installing it, taking great care not to touch it.

You need to change the tiny DIP switch settings so each fan is set up differently. (Note that each pair of remote transmitters--the one in the fan body, held in a bracket above the light kit when you drop that down; plus the one on the wall switch or in a hand-held remote, must be set with the same combination.)
Our Minka Aire Churchill model has 4 DIP switches; I have seen Casablancas with 5.

SOURCE: How to wire a remote control ceiling fan, without using remote.

If you don't want the to use the remote you don't have to, but you don't have enough wires to switch the upper light, the lower light, and the fan. You can, however, switch the upper and lower lights together if that's okay. In order to do that you'd connect the white from the ceiling box to the white (neutral) on the fan, then the green from the ceiling box to any green(ground) wires on the fan, then the black from the ceiling box to the black(motor) from the fan, then the red from the ceiling box to the blue and orange (lights) from the fan. I'm assuming that the black and red in the ceiling box are also in the switch box where the fan/light control switch is going. Those are the ones you'll connect to the controller.

SOURCE: Minka Aire remote controlled ceiling fan

I have a newer Minka w/ wall controller. The books says to make sure both the wall control and the receiver(up in the fan) are both programmed the same. My receiver has no little switches but has a sticker stating that you need to hold the 'fan off' button down for 3 seconds after turning on the power so the receiver can memorize the program in the wall switch. You have 60 sec to do this after power is turned on. Good luck !

I've had problems with Minka Aire also. You might need a new receiver. Call Minka @ 1-800-307-3267 and talk to someone in tech dept.. Should be a one year warranty on the receiver.

Ceiling fans have tiny "brains" that get fuddled when one tries to combine remote control and wall switches/pull chains. If you want to be able to use remote control, redo the installation omitting the other switches.

There are tiny dip switches on the remote as well as on the receiver. Make sure they are set to the same sequence. The receiver is the black box that all the wires connect to in the ceiling.

2 remotes

Yes, If the receiver is the same model number one remote will work for both... (im assuming when you state remote you are referring to a hand held remote? or are you referring to a wall mount remote? Each ceiling fan comes with it's own electrical unit... I currently have some Minka concept fans if your interested in purchasing at a very good price or if I can help you out in any other way please feel free to contact me at payitforwardx2 @ GMAIL .
