Not familiar with this model number but there should always be about 11" of freeboard give or take 1" . Freeboard is space between top of sand bed and bottom of valve.

The impeller shaft could be binding. Also, the pump could be unable to spin the impeller at all, in which case you may need to replace it.

I have a Intex Sand Filter Pump SF15110. Can I upgrade the from the 1/2 hP to 1 HP motor

I have the same problem and put a 1HP pump on my system and too much flow. So you can not increase by that much. Need to stay at 1/2 HP and they are impossible to find. End up buying whole new intex system.

It sounds like your GFCI was knocked out. You can put a new plug on the end if you are sure to get the Common, Line, and Ground wires lined up correctly. A trip to a good hardware store should do the trick. If they don't have GFCI plugs then make sure that the receptacle is GFCI protected. (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter).

Why is the sand going back into the water Intex Sf15110

Your sand filter has developed a fault.
Normally water is filtered from the top of the sand filter through the sand to the bottom of the sand filter into the spoke pipes. The filtered water is collected by a pattern of spoke pipes that is connected to the collection box. These pipes only allow water to pass through to the return riser pipe to return the water to the pool via the selector valve.

This problem happened to me too, the fault was at the bottom of the sand filter, at the connection box, it had collapsed/cracked and allowed the sand entered the riser pipe to the selector valve that controls the backwashing, rinse, and filtering etc. and the sand and water is returned to the pool via this valve.

The can be repaired, it requires removing the control valve, removing the sand to get access to the riser pipe, and the collection box and spoke pipes. the the damaged collection box can be repaired.
Put back together in reverse order.

Too much sand or wrong type of sand in the tank are two possibilities; should tell you on the side of the label how much sand to put in but generally it fills to about half way up the tank body.

Are you getting sand back in the pool at all? If not it is unlikely the sand is the issue since too small a grain would pass thru the laterals and get to the pool.

Have you used any clarifiers in the water? Over-dosing with a clarifier can literally turn the top of the sand bed into mortar impeding the flow of water.

Received this sand pump. However there were no instructions on how to put it together. Shows it already together but it was sent apart in two boxes! HELP

They're all about the same. Skimmer outlet goes to pump inlet. Pump outlet goes to filter inlet. Filter outlet returns back to the pool. You will have to fill it with sand. Look at link: Most any of these instructions will work. Pay attention on how to add sand so you don't break the "spider" piping in bottom of filter. I usually have water in first to absorb the shock of adding sand. Don't let sand enter the stand pipe in center of filter. Cover with plastic cup or something.
