If you want to graph the absolute value of a function, feed the function to the absolute value ie graph y= abs(f(x)). The calculator will take care of it. See screen captures where I draw the function y1=x^3-5x^2-3 and y2='x^3-5x^2-3'. On the first graph the function is represented and on the second the function and its absolute value.

Hi there,

Say you have an equation x = 2y.

On a graph, you plot the points representing the values that fit into the equation.

X Y

2 1

4 2

6 3

etc.

And to throw a curve in there:

-2 -1

-4 -2

-6 -3

Hello,

This calculator has 6 or 7 graph styles. The shading is one of them. To change graph style for one function, use arrows to highlight the function. Use left arrow to move the cursor on the segment or image that represent the style (to the left of the Y). Press [ENTER] repeatedly. Each time you press [Enter] the style changes to another one.

Select the style you want and press [GRAPH] to draw the graph.

The marking that so puzzle you define the type of line (or dots) to represent the graphs. Enter as many functions as there are Y variables.

After entering a function press [ENTER] to jump to the next one.

When finished entering all functions press GRAPH. If you want graphs drawn one after the other, in MODE highlight Sequential (6th line) and press ENTER. If you want graphs drawn simultaneously, in MODE (6th line) highlight Simul and press ENTER. Press 2ND QUIT to return to previous screen . Execute graph again.

I am afraid I am missing something here. You can start with the expression of a function and have it graphed on a graphing calculator.

Or you can enter the experimental data, represent them on a graphing calculator and ask the calculator to find the curve that fits the data best, and once that curve is found to give you the equation.

However your calculator does not have the graphing capabilities. All you can do is enter the data and ask the calculator to perform a regression to obtain the expression of the function that fits best.

The available options for the calculator are accessible by pressing [MODE][3:Stat] and

2. A+BX linear

3: _+cX^2 quadratic

4: ln X logarithmic

5: e^X exponential

6:A*B^X power

7: A*X^B Polynomial

8: 1/X
