my camera is a sony DSC HX400V. I do have a diopter but when I turn it, it does not clear up. However it is clear when I look through the LCD and it takes clear pictures.

Why is the image in the view finder blurry

There could be several reasons.

The camera isn't focused. Adjust the focus.

The diopter is not set properly. Some cameras have a viewfinder diopter adjustment. This is similar to putting eyeglasses on the camera. Just as things will look blurry to you if you look through someone else's glasses, the viewfinder will be blurry if the diopter is not set properly for your vision. I wish I could tell you how to adjust this (or even whether your camera has it) but since you didn't bother to specify the model of your Olympus camera...

How can I fix the viewfinder on my Sony a55? It's

There's a diopter adjustment dial just to the right of the viewfinder. Turn this dial while looking through the viewfinder to adjust it to your eyesight.

When I look through the lens at the top everything appears blurry but when I open the lens door everything appears clear. Why?

On the left of the viewfinder, there is a little wheel. That is the diopter adjustment, which must be adjusted for your eyes. Rotate the wheel until things look in focus when you look through the viewfinder. The diopter wheel on the SX10 IS is prone to move when you take your camera in and out of the case, so it may need readjustment regularly.

There's a diopter adjustment knob just to the right of the viewfinder. Turn it while looking through the viewfinder at a blank wall until the numbers in the viewfinder appear sharp. This knob allows the camera to adjust for individual eyesight.

The diopter adjustment lever is just to the right of the viewfinder. Try adjusting that and see if the viewfinder sharpens up any.

If you don't have a manual for the N80, you can get one at http://www.butkus.org/chinon/nikon.htm

When i look through my lens, its blurry

Adjust the viewfinder diopter to suit your eyesight. The control is near the viewfinder; try adjusting it and see if the image clears up. Be careful not to poke yourself in the eye as you do this.
