I use the phone as a modem to connect to the Internet, it started hanging for no reason the last couple of days, then would be fine for a while after soft reset. Thats why i did a hard reste cause it kept hanging every day.

TyTN II not charging. Will not turn on whilst on DC Car charger, or on USB cable charge. Orange light not coming on. But, flashing geen light each 3 seconds.
This unit is 3.5 years old. Maybe battery is DEAD.
(1) If battery removed, will data, contacts, sms etc be lost?
(2) Any method to check battery is dead?
(3) If unit not start with a brand new battery, how to copy data?

Hi you seem to either corrupted the storage card of the flash memory. In either case you have to remove the battery physically for 1 minute and try again.

no i would not recommend opening it. This software related yet not hardware. IF removing the power has not fixed it.. it has corrupted the OS.. what was the last thing you were doing before the Hard Reset?

a hard reset only take between 7-10 minutes

try to do the hard reset one more time rather then just turning it on

do you have a cooked ROM or the original HTC rom installed?

first try a soft reset or try a default password 1234
lilb86.jpg

if that doesnt work you will need to do a hard reset. this is how there are two ways here is way number one

To do a hard reset its a bit of a pain

while pressing and holding both soft keys which are the two dashes just bellow the screen push the stylus into the reset hole pic above
Keep pressed until the warning appears. continue

If the device just starts up quickly then you have done a soft reset only.(as mentioned above)
Try again all three things must be done at the same time and held until the hard reset message appears.

If you succeed in hard re-setting but the password is still asked for then we may need an extra few steps to ensure the registry is cleared. .

way number two..

press and hold the left &right soft key, and at the same time, use the stylus to press thereset button at the bottom of your device.
release the stylus but continue pressing the 2 soft keys until you see a message on your screen

Release the two soft keyss, and then press the green call button on your device.

To perform a hard reset using Clear Storage if you can access it

1. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Clear Storage.
2. Type "1234" in the box and tap YES.

please let me know if that helps

Clear Storage

Another way of clearing the device storage and reset all settings back to factory default settings is to use the Clear Storage feature. You will lose all your data and files on the device storage when you use Clear Storage, so make sure to do a backup first.

  1. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Clear Storage.
  2. Enter “1234” then tap Yes.
I hope that helps.

How do i hard reset the htc 8525

There are two ways:
1) If your device is not frozen, navigate to Select Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage and type in 1234 in the text box. This will erase everything you installed and restore the phone to your last ROM flash.
2) If your device is non-functional, press the two soft keys under the touchscreen (the topmost buttons under the touchscreen) while simultaneously pressing the soft reset button by inserting the stylus into the reset port at the bottom of the phone. This performs the same function as option 1.

HTC TY II Product - messaging not working

You will have to do a master or "hard" reset which will reset your phone to factory state. This can be done via Tapping Start > Settings > System tab, then tap Clear Storage and input "1234". Conversely you can also hard reset your phone by holding both your softkeys (the physical keys that map to left and right menu options) and using your stylus to hit the reset button while holding those two softkeys.
