Philips DVD935

By Ross - usenet poster

Hi

I,ve got a customer with aPhilips DVD935 ,originally a region 2 player.A
little more than 2 years ago we made a chip-upgrade to gain all regions
possible.It worked properly until new yearsday 2001...then it didn't accept
any disc,just telling "wrong region"..we made a reset...don't remember
how...it was running again.

This new year 2001/2002...the problem came back again...but didn't manage to
make it work again.
Tried to remove the "modification chip",back to original.No difference
still.

Is there any known solution for this problem?
Greatful for tips

found these 2 solutions try them out :

Philips DV-935
- Make sure there is no disc inserted and then turn the DVD player on
- Press the buttons '2', '7', '4' on your remote control.
- An entry field will appear
- Enter the following codes with the remote control:
* For regional code 1: 0060001 281 56
* For regional code 2: 0010001 281 56
* For regional code 3: 0090001 281 56
* For regional code 4: 0110001 281 56
- Press any other button on the remote control.
- The display should now turn red, the code has been changed?
- Unfortunately, this only works 25 times.

An alternative method:
- Make sure there is no disc inserted and then turn the DVD player on
- Press the buttons '2', '7', '4' on your remote control.
- A field similar to an entry field appears
- Enter the following codes with the remote control:
- For regional code 1: 00500128156
- For regional code 2: 00200128156
- Press any other button on the remote control.
- The display should now turn red, the code has been changed.

Caution, this method only works 25 times!
