I would try replaceing the overload/relay first . The piece that plugs onto the compressor . Without model number , cant give you the part number .

Sears says " no serviceable parts are available for this product " But , an overload/relay (which I only know of a few ) should correct your problem . All compressors have 3 terminals , just match up the one you have at a parts place .

My Goodman CAPF020B2C HVAC unit continues to run, but does not produce any cold air through the vents. It only stopped doing so a few hours ago, and I have not changed any settings today.

If the unit is still running and sounds no different to you - I would bet that that the compressor "is not running."
The fan motor of an AC unit is the sound most people identify with - but, the compressor (which is the heart of the system) makes a different sound which is usually 'hidden' by the noise of the fan.
Therefore, many customers assume that the AC is running normally (when the fan motor is running and the compressor is not).
I would turn off all power (BE SURE IT IS COMPLETELY OFF) and then I would feel the compressor and see if it was hot.
If it's 'hot' then it's probably went off on an 'internal safety.' In which case you could leave the unit off for awhile and let the compressor cool off. While it's cooling off you could make sure the condenser coil is clean. If it's not - now would be a good time to clean it with a water hose. Note: the water would also help the compressor to cool. NOTE: try and be careful with the water hose and to not get excessive water in the wiring or fan motor.
IF the condenser coil is dirty then it's possible that - that was the reason for the compressor getting hot and now (with a clean coil) you will not have any more problems. IF, however, the unit does not cool (after cleaning the condenser) you will need to have an AC Tech troubleshoot the unit.
However, if the compressor is 'cool' to the touch that means it's off for some other reason and most likely you will need someone to troubleshoot the system. However, you could look for loose wires to the compressor or even a wire that is burnt off. If you are electrically/mechanically inclined you can repair/replace a burnt off wire to the compressor.
Also, you could check the capacitor (a large silver/gray in color device electrically connected by wires to the compressor) and see if it's bulged - in which case you can assume it's bad and needs to be changed, which may solve the problem.
hope this has helped.

MCWC52B wine cooler stopped cooling, compressor hot

Turn it off and place a small electric fan by compressor to cool it down.
When you turn it back on, see if you hear a clicking noise. This would indicate starting components need checking.

My 2002 Expedition air conditioner will sometimes blow hot air and others cold air

I would check the following possibilities:
1. Is compressor clutch working? - You need to do this when the ac is blowing hot air only - locate compressor drive pulley on engine - rubber belt wraps around it. Start engine and set to max ac. When the ac is blowing hot air, look at the center of the compressor drive pulley using a good flash light - watch it for a while, it should be spinning with the pulley - this means the compressor is engaged. If not, the compressor is not engaged. If your ac is blowing hot air, then the compressor should be engaged and running (trying to cool). If it is not engaged, then your compressor clutch is probably going out. Could be low voltage to clutch, but more likely the clutch is worn out and only working some of the time. Note: if working normally, the compressor clutch will engage and disengage in cycles- but the air should always be cold. If clutch is bad, compressor would need to be replaced (sold as one unit). This is tricky to diagnose and could take some time - you need to do it when ac is blowing hot air but set to max cooling.

2. Low on refrigerant or refrigerant has moisture in it? If your ac blows cold initially after being off for a while, then heats up, and continues to regularly cycle back and forth between hot and cool air, then the system may be low on refrigerant or the refrigerant may have moisture in it that is freezing and restricting refrigerant flow. An a/c shop can check refrigerant level and even replace refrigerant if moisture is suspected.

Could be other issues, but I would start with these.

Good luck

Heat Pump no longer produces cold air. Blows good but not cold.

make sure the coils are clean run unit a bout 20 min take cover off and feel the lines on the compressor the big one should be cold and small hot feel top of compressor to make sure running
if big line not cold most likley freeon has leaked out if compressor not running low psi may have unit out look at the compacitor if swelled up bad hope this helps
