Open Question

Hello, my washer 970.C4804 shows "PAU" on the control pannel. I press both switches Cancel and Start and the control pannel shows EOO. What its means?

Washer Kenmore 970.C4804200 I unplugged my washer for 12 hours and there're not changes. I did the check test from the manuifacturer and its appears an E41. I unplugged an plugged the door lock and I've againt he same problem that at the begining. I suppose that the problem comes from the door lock sensor but before buy it I want to know if I've to do others check tests or someting else to check.

SOURCE: PAU error code comes on

Hello, welcome to FixYa

Based on the info you provided, specifically the E41 error, It sounds like the unit is detecting an unlocked door, loose wire, or the control itself is bad. (E41= Shorted or open. Defective door lock assembly.Around 1500Ohms. Defective control board.)

The PAU simply indicates the control thinks it has been paused...that may be just a side affect of the door lock assembly.

Here's how to check...

**Unplug the unit from the wall first...safety first**

Remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC. Should get a reading of around 1500ohms.

Attached here is a great tutorial for accessing the assembly for testing and replacing.

Let me know if you need further assistance going forward or if anything is not clear.

Thank's again for visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Error code PAU, what it means

The washer is stuck in "pause" mode. You can try pressing the Start/Cancel button to see if that clears it. If not, try unplugging the washer for about 10 minutes to force a reset.

If still no go, suspect problem with door latch/striker switch or failure of a cheap chinese control board. In fact, failure-prone chinese control boards are at the heart of virtually all premature failures of modern appliances. They usually only last just long enough to span the warranty period.

There should be an electrical schematic diagram attached to the back of the unit. You may be able to use that to identify the faulty part. Don't be surprised if the replacement board costs alot more than it's size and simplicity might indicate.

What does pau mean

Hello friend, I appreciate your post!

I see from the information you have provided that your Frigidaire washer is displaying a PAU code. Normally means the washer has been paused, which could be cleared be pressing either the cancel button or start button once. If that does not clear the code you could try resetting the appliance by disconnecting power. This could be done one of two ways by either unplugging the washer or flipping the household circuit breaker for ten minutes. Please comment back I would like to know if this information has been helpful. -Matt

Frigidaire Washer Model #ATF6000FS2 flashes pau

Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for allowing me t to assist you!

If your Frigidaire washer (ATF6000FS2) is displaying PAU, it usually means that the door is not securely latched or the cycle has been interrupted. Try pressing "PAUSE/CANCEL" or "START/PAUSE" once to resume cycle. If these basic troubleshooting tips prove ineffective, try reprogramming your appliance by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is necessary to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn your washer on. If the issue persists, then your washer could possibly have a faulty door latch, wiring harness, or experiencing a communication error with the control board. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the washer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

My Frigidaire Affinity is brand new. Just did our first load of laundry and mid cycle it stopped and the PAU is lighting up intermittent with the time left. I have tried everything I can think of and it...

Hello Mary Fortner - It means that the washer has been paused; the cycle has been interrupted. Either the "Pause/Cancel" button or "Start/Pause" button has been pressed. To resume wash - press "Pause/Cancel" or "Start/Pause" once. If this does not prove to be successful please turn the breaker to the unit off for 5 minutes. Then turn the breaker back on to the unit, and retry the cycle setting again.

Affinity washer displays ERR. PAU and 56

I fixed this myself and it only took about 5 minutes. The problem is the door latch needs to be reset, which requires unplugging it's three electrical connections. This has to be done inside the washer outer seal, but it is easy to get to. First remove the outer ring that holds the seal on. Next remove only the side of the seal closest to the door latch (again only the outer seal needs to be undone). With this done remove the two screws holding the door latch in place (inside). Remove the latch, unplug the three connectors, plug them back in then reassemble everything. When all is back in place hit "cancel" and it should be good to go.
