SOURCE: how do you reset sharp xe-a302 cash register to factory defaults

Hi.
I would not recommend doing this unless you are certain that it is the cause. I have never had memory corruption in this series before, so I would strongly suggest it is being caused by another factor such as spillage in the keyboard.
Can you tell me exactly which buttons are showing the problem and what happens when you press them. Can you still make sales with the product buttons?

I don't have this particular cash register, But I took a look at the manual and I recommend the following:

A. Turn the cash register off.

B. Unplug it.

C. Remove the batteries.

D. Wait at least five minutes.

E. Initialize the cash register. This procedure was copied from thwe manual:

In order to operate the cash register properly, you must initialize it before operating for the first time. Follow this
procedure.

1. Insert the manager (MA) key into the mode switch and turn it to the REG position.

2. Insert the plug of the AC power cord into the AC outlet. The buzzer will sound
three times.

IMPORTANT: This operation must be performed without batteries installed.

3.
The cash register has now been initialized. The register display will show
"0.00" and then “NO BATTERY”.

If the buzzer does not sound when the plug is inserted, the initialization has not been done
successfully. (This will occur when the voltage is high because you operated the cash register
before starting initialization.) Wait at least one minute after pulling out the plug and insert the plug
again.

Hello, my name is Curtis, and I am a Sharp Customer Service Rep. What you are going to want to do first is press the CL on the grey keys, then the ESC in the bottom left corner twice, (CL ESC ESC.) Then on the grey keys type in the clerk number (01) and press that blue, CLK# key above the department keys, the screen should read -01- from there you should be able to press the CA/AT/NS key and the drawer will open and you will be ready to go. However if there is any problems doing this please contact our support line at 1-800-237-4277, we are open every day of the year till 7:00 PM central time. Hope this works for you!

finally solved this problem...yeah

first press CL
then ESC then ESC
then 1 (grey button)
then CLK#

after this step your screen will show - 01 -
now your register is ready to go..

When turning on our sharp XE-A42S cash register in REG mode it lets us enter in a price, but when we go to push the department key, it beeps and displays misoperation...


Firstly, press subtotal (ST) button. If a price appears, you are in a sale and it is waiting for you to finish (try another method like credit). If it gives an error or beep when you press ST button and the drawer does not open when pressing CA/AT/NS, you probably haven't signed on. Try signing on using a PIN number (see clerk sign on in your manual)

Try pressing clear (CL) then type some numbers and see if they appear on the screen. If not, you probably have keyboard failure. If they work, press clear again and try pressing 1 then CLK# button.

NOT ASSIGNED means no cashier is signed on. Find the cashier number button, probably labeled CASH #. In REG mode, press CL to clear the error, then 1, then CASH #, and Cashier 1 will be assigned. The display will show -01- Go straight from here into your sale.
Some registers are set up to not show the cashier number on the display or receipt. If 1 CASH # doesn't work, try CASH #, 1, CASH #.
Most users don't track sales by cashiers, so they forget they even have the capability, and they forget how to use that CASH # key. If you press the CASH # button without entering a number, it will sign out the active cashier, and you'll get this NOT ASSIGNED error.

My sharb cash register XE-A40S got error( Not assigned) I press CL+1+Clk ) dos not work what I have to do?


That is strange. You may have had the clerk sign on codes changed by someone. Make sure you are using the CLK# button at the top of the keyboard next to DEPT SHIFT button. Make sure the key is turned to REG position. If 1 CLK# doesn't work, try 2 CLK# or 9 CLK# Most machines will print the clerk number on the display once you enter it correctly e.g "-01-"

Register won't operate. "not assigned" error in reg mode. I can't find an answer. And tomorrow is our busiest day, ie saturday. Please help

My Sharp XE A203 has ceased operation and shows IPL on the screen. Nothing works! Help!

press CL key ,didnt change display,

when power on & remove your batteries one by one
then replace batteries again one by one

display **** MRS *************** and press CL key

then machine came normal condition

but your data is lost.
