If you have high red blood cell count what can you do to get it down, is giving blood once a month a solution

It depends on what is causing your red blood count to go up. Your best answer will come from your Dr. Blood letting is not the answer.

What causes low red blood count

Anemia can be caused by pregnancy (usually normal), disease (eg cancer), bleeding (eg menstruation) or an infection somewhere (eg kidneys).

Since it can possibly indicate something serious, pay attention to your doctor and go with that advice.

There are other conditions that lead to lower counts and they may require Doctors consultation.
