Symptoms and signs of tick bite fever If you get bitten by an infected tick, the incubation period (the period between being infected and displaying symptoms) is about five to seven days. Symptoms can vary, depending partly on the organism involved. Your age and underlying health may also influence the severity of the infection.
Typical features may include the presence of a black mark where the bite occurred, and fever, severe headache and a rash. The black mark at the site of the tick bite is called an eschar (or a tache noir), and looks like a small ulcer (2-5mm in diameter) with a black centre. It may look something like a spider bite. The eschars can be single or multiple and can sometimes be very difficult to find. The eschar usually appears once the fever appears, as does the headache and malaise (general feeling of ill-health). Lymph nodes near the eschar may be enlarged.
A rash is usually, but not always, a feature of tick bite fever (it is supposedly less likely to occur in someone infected by R. africae), but when it is present, it consists of small red marks on the skin, sometimes raised slightly above the surface. It typically starts on the limbs and spreads to the trunk, and can involve the entire body, including the palms of the hands and soles of the feet.

What is the treatment for glandular fever

There is no cure for glandular fever, and most symptoms normally disappear within 4-6 weeks without treatment, although fatigue may persist for up to 6 months in some cases. Most people make a full recovery.
Symptoms can be controlled with:

Rest Rest Rest

they will want it naturally without much couching. But also can be frustrating.
Complete rest will aid recovery, especially during the first month after symptoms appear. They often feel too tired and too unwell to continue with their regular routine and they can't! As the they recover, light exercise may help them regain muscle strength.

Drinking fluids

This will help preventdehidration, especially if there is a high fever. A sore throat can make it hard to swallow, but it is important to consume enough fluid. Whatever juicy fruits they like give them!

Painkillers

Painkillers, such as ibuprofen or Tylenol... They may help control fever and pain. Asprin is NOT suitable for anyone under 16 years of age.

Gargling

Gargling with salt water or a solution from the pharmacy...ask the pharmacist... may/will help relieve a sore throat.

Steroids?

If the tonsils are very inflamed or breathing is difficult, a short course of corticosteroids...well maybe..normally this is not recommended and you'll be hard pressed to find a doctor to treat this way unless their hospitalised.

Got spots on my lower back

If you haven\'t had chicken pox as a child then adults certainly can contract it. The greater risk in adults is though is that the virus responsible for chicken pox can also cause shingles. This is a much more serious illness.

Measles is also possible to contract as an adult.

Did you have the MMR vaccine? If so, then it is unlikely that you have contracted either measles or chicken pox.

Symptoms of measles generally appear within 14 days of exposure to the virus. Symptoms include:

People with chickenpox have the following symptoms before the rash appears:

  • Fever

  • Headache

  • Stomach ache

The chickenpox rash occurs about 10 to 21 days after coming into contact with someone who had the disease. The average patient develops 250 to 500 small, itchy, fluid-filled blisters over red spots on the skin.

I have a sore eyes,i used eye drops for 4days,i thought i overused a eye drops i got teary eyes and i got a fever what will i do?

Stop using the eyedrops. Take a shower to rinse eyes with water.
Check blood pressure.
Take aspirin for fever.
Look up 'pink eye' and see if symptoms match.

Go to local clinic for correct eyedrop and reassurance, get rest, avoid stress, turn off TV forever, drink lots of water, avoid caffeine (soda, chocolate), avoid salt, and forgive all.

You're likely to recover in a few days.
