SOURCE: Miele Cat & Dog Vacuum

I have a Miele White Star. The Turbo Plus attachment has stopped working. Brush will not turn. I've had it all apart and cleaned it. Still a no go. Is there an electrical connection somewhere. Fixable or should I just replace it? Thanks Mary

SOURCE: My bissell vacuum cleaner has lost suction...

Sounds like either the hose or the inlet down by the brush roll is clogged.

The full bag light comes on when it is getting full or a blockage in the hose or the dirt inlet by the brush roll. Other then that, there is a circuit board called the computer controller, part #5740ER and is giving you a false reading and causing a shut down.

SOURCE: USE GENIE WET DRY VAC WITH OR WITHOUT PAPER LINER?

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} The PB15 uses a fairly large pleaded paper filter for dry use, but it is an odd ball, as most of these type filters are held in place bay some sort of plate, and plastic nut. The PB15 uses a filter that has a bottom, and is pressed into place. For wet use, I would see if you can use the foam filter for one of the Craftsman small W/D vacs, like the old 2 gallon model, held in place with a rubber band, which is slipped over the cage with the float ball. It needs to be sealed across the bottom. That should cut down on spray making its way to the motor. The PB15 does have one good feature as the vacuum inlet has an elbow which keeps the water from being sucked straight into the motor intake, so the foam filter should do the job pretty well. I’d also look at the bag and rubber band that is used on some of the smaller Craftsman vacs, which sounds like what has been done on yours already. They are easy to find.

Because Genie no longer makes any vacuums or blowers, and did not keep a parts inventory to support owners of their products (a reason not to buy one of their garage door openers) it might be best in the long run to ‘garage sale’ the Genie, and buy a new vac from a brand that will be around for awhile. I have two Craftsmen, and one Ridgid, besides the PB15, which is going in the nest garage sale, for the above reason.

As far as your blower to vacuum problem -- The hose is moved from the blower outlet, which is the top black piece with the handle and switch, to the hole in the canister for vacuum. The intent of the PB15 was to use the top piece as a hand held electric leaf blower, or when attached to the yellow canister as a vacuum, when you use the hose attached to the canister.

When using a bag inside shop vac, do I still need to cover the motor with foam & paper & ring or can I leave those off?

Keep it on. The purpose is to give you something to clean, a time or two, rather than have to replace the more expensive filter. I know it seems redundant, but all of the pieces filter better than just a bag. Also, if the bag gets any damp or wet material, it breaks and your next filters are the foam and paper filter.

I have a craftsman 2 gal wet/dry vacuume & after using it for a wet pick up without a filter, it blows dust out while vacuuming and is extremely loud. Any suggestions. I took it apart and unclogged...

It sucked up some of the muddy water into the impeller while you was using it. Then it dried out and turned to dust. After you get done using it for wet pickup take a water hose and let a little clean water **** into the impeller, with it off the tub. That will clean it then let it run till dry. That will keep it from getting moldy also. And always put a filter on before using for dry stuff. They make a universal filter that is like a satin bag. That is what I use instead of paper one. Even for water.

Hoover core vacuum cleaner. My son has vacuumed water into machine. will this ruin it

Allow it to dry dry for sometime , clean all the filter after keeping it open, then run it open without any attachments , the bag or the filter till all traces of water/moisture goes off. I dont think there will much of problem unless it has gone into the motor and damaged, But take care if it is wet and allow it to dry before you touch it or connect to mains.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The bag is not going to do the job as well as the filter around the drum that hold the ball. The filter that goes under the motor does a lot of the filtering or you would have to do some type of cage filter then a foam filter and then a paper bag, I f you have a cartridge filter then the paper bag can go over the cartridge filter , B4 you do anything – id you have some type of compressor – use it to blow out the dust and dirt out of the motor, then buy a cartridge filter and then a paper bad with a rubber band to hold it on. This will do the best filtering . Check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer and bring in the top of your shop vac so that they can fix a proper cartridge / paper bag filter – or the cage frame with a foam filter with a paper bag. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hello,

No…. I would advise NOT running the machine without the filter because you will burn up the motor. You can use a paper bag with a rubber band to slide over the motor to protect it from dust and also if you have a foam type filter – you can put the foam filter on first, then the paper bag then the rubber band, or if you have a cartridge filter you can run it with just the cartridge filter bur would suggest cleaning the cartridge filter after each use – also you can place the paper bag method over the cartridge filter as well or call the Delonghi factory and order the part or they will direct you to a local dealer, Info listed below:
