I do have the very same problem! I took my bobbin case out and took a good look at it, turns out right below the plastic hook part, the plastic was cracked off (probably due to thread jamming). Turns out I need a new internal bobbin case, which range in price from $35-$50 from what I researched. I had no luck with local sewing centers on finding the part.
That may (or not) be your issue as well. Good luck, and I hope this your issue is simple fix. A little tune up after might be needed, HAPPY SEWING!! ~Kelly J~

SOURCE: Janome Memory Craft 8900 QCP. Upper tread jamming in the bobbin area and around. Needle jumps randomly on one side. Was sowing quite thick material with straight stitch and it was fine. Then I decided

Did it break the needle when you changed stitches? Or did it just go straight to jamming.

The machine has a small micro switch under the lid of the machine that is either stuck or bent. Remove the top and look in the area of the bobbin winder and flip the winder to engage and disengage. You should see a swith that the bobbin winder pushes against. That should be the problem, if it is bent you may be able to straighten it out.

WHERE IS THE FUSE FOR THE JANOME MEMORY CRAFT 9000? THANK YOU

Remove the top cover by taking the two large screws and the small one under the handle, LHS.

Remove the left side cover. The hidden screw is a 2.5mm allen accessed through the vent.

Lay the machine on its back and remove the four large phillips screws on the bottom and the small screw for the side, paying extreme caution with respect to the embroidery arm.

CAREFULLY move the bottom to the left and out of the way.

Inside the body of the machine you will see a black box held in place by three or torx/slotted screws. Remove the screws and, as you slowly pull the box out MAKE NOTE OF WHICH WIRES PLUG IN WHERE.

Clear bobbin out of thread

Memory Craft has a bobbin winder on top of the machine.  It works beautifully, but wind it on slowly for better sewing function.

Bobbin winding message

Under the top cover, on the right hand side where the bobbin winder is, there is a small switch which is activated when the bobbin is being wound. You will need to remove the cover and reposition the switch (it's located towards the front of the machine) to make it work properly.

Janome 9000

I have a Janome 9000, was sewing and broke needle, replaced and broke another. I didn't have machine threaded, took out bobbin and would sew a little and stop saying thread broke. I took off top plate and started machine again, sew a little and stop saying thread broke. So I took out bobbin case and sewed again and stopped repeating the message. Everything looks OK, bobbin case and top plate. I guess I want to know if the timing could be off or do you think it is the computer part of the machine...Should I take it to the Sewing Machine Shop??
