Stick with the doctor. That test result will not be the only one the doc considers, and there may yet be something to be discovered.

With my elderly husband, he has been declining over the last week, being non-responsive and confused. He gets better sand than worse. He was at ER found nothing, chaulked it up to dehydration

I am not a doctor.

Your husband's condition might have several causes or aggravations including the onset of senility or Alzheimer's.

Historically, where there is already some senility, something as simple as a ******* tract or bladder infection can cause added confusion and introversion.
Deafness has also been known to be a cause.

Older people often don't eat well or drink enough and vitamin/mineral deficiency or dehydration can result.

Older people frequently begin to ignore good hygiene and so mild poisoning or infection becomes a possibility and these days there are many viruses around that can cause all manner of strange symptoms in the strong and healthy, the possible effects on an older person is likely to be much greater.

A proper assessment can only be carried out by a doctor and it would be better if the doctor is a specialist in geriatric medicine.
I suggest you visit where you could find more information.

Can you damage your esophagus if you drink baking and water too much?

Go to a doctor!!!!!!!!!!! you have chest pain for a reason, it is your bodies way of telling you, you need professional help. If it turns out to be acid reflux, try elevating the head of your bed frame about 4 inches this will allow the contents of your stomach to lie lower while you sleep. you should also not eat 3-4 hours before you go to bed/

My husband has flu and my friend told me that he has to drink a lot. Does that really help?

Yes, your husband should stay well hydrated and drink at least 8 cups of water a day. The water helps to thin down mucus which has the potential to hang around and turn into a respiratory infection. Hot drinks also have the added benefit of being soothing for sore throats etc.

Avoid caffeine filled drinks as they can cause dehydration.

What are the benefits of carbonated water?

Carbonated water is almost as healthy for you as regular water (aside from the sugars that are usually found in carbonated water drinks). And for people who don't like to drink a lot of water, the taste and the texture of carbonated water can actually make these people drink more water than they would otherwise.
