Re: What is the best way to treat my yard for fleas?
One home treatment is garden lime spread liberally over the lawn and dry ground areas
there is a solution that is used for mange mites that when sprayed over the area kills fleas ticks , mange mites and other nasties that affects dogs and cats
it is available from you local produce store or a vet may have it on the shelf
the one I use is MALDISON 50 with the active ingredient of maldison (500g/L) an anti -cholinestrase compound, solvent 493 g/l hydrocarbon liquid
It is registered as a poison so use carefully and keep well away from children
It is a complete dog/cat dip and does not affect the animals

Fleas are annoying and persistent, so there is no instantaneous way to remove fleas from your dog or cat.
Some Generic methods to remove Flea :
1) Launder pet bedding and blankets
2) Use dehumidifiers
3) Trim all outdoor areas where your dog plays.
These generic ways are not so helpful in overcoming from Flea. Therefore I will recommend you to use Nitenpyram. It is a very effective insecticide which is used to kill Flea. Generic Capstar is one option to remove fleas from dogs and cats. It's a tablet that when taken orally, begins to work within 30-minutes and kills 90% of all fleas within four hours.
Hi Carolyne,You will have to take your baby to the vet and have them treat it and hopefully they can get rid of them, there's nothing you can buy to get rid of them.I have 3 Yorkies, and every month I call my vet to get 3 doses of TRIFEXIS,you can only get this thru your vet, they have to be tested yearly for heartworms and intestinal worms. The test for each of my baby's is 32 dollars,it also treats it for intestinal worms and it controls fleas, they never had a flea in their life. You will have to spend the cost but you need to get your baby to the vet as soon as possible, also get a rabie shot, owning a pet is not cheap. The monthly TRIFEXIS is about 30 dollars per dog.Check this link out. What kind of Dog do you have? Does it live indoors or outdoors or both? Does it sleep in the bed with you? Eating your dog? Meaning bugs, or parasites, and even molds, could be eating the dog. Treatment depends on the thickness of the hair and the dogs weight. I give my dog a pill called Program Advantage, for his weight. It doesn't repel fleas, they fay dead eggs to make more fleas to break the life3 cycle as they only live a day to two if thier normal. Eggs hatch when conditions are right. if the eggs can't hatch your problem is solved for the fleas that found you dog. Treat your yard and bedding and all other places the dog hangs out in and you will beat the fleas and most other pests that can and may be eating on your dog. washing the dog for a few weeks in a row will get things under control. I try to wash him once a week.
It takes about 24 hours to kill the fleas. In the meantime, vacuum your house really well and when you're done, throw the bag in a plastic bag and put it outside into the trash can. If you have one of those vacuums that have a wind tunnel thing, empty it into a plastic bag, outside, and leave it out there in the trash can until trash day. Fleas can live about 30 days without eating. You may need to spray your yard to kill any fleas out there, and also spray your house. If you have a bird, be very careful and maybe let the bird stay with a friend for a few days. Good luck. This is a very bad year for fleas.
Dental treats for dogs improve the dog's teeth and gum health, while reducing bad smell as well. One of the main oral problems for dogs is the build-up of plaque. The best way to get rid of plaque is by chewing. Therefore giving dogs chewing treats will do wonders for their teeth and gums.

under shrubs, bushes and all shaded areas.
Wait a considerable amount of time after spraying (up to 6 hours) before
