Erractic firing

!. check all plug wires and make sure they are in the proper fireing order.
2. Check points and replace condenser.
3. if 1 & 2 are good check timing, you can loosen bolt at the bottom of distributor and while the tractor is running at med. speed turn the disb. until it smooths out. Also give it a compression test. 95 % of
these problems are electrical the rest are gas related.

Firing order for 1963 FORD 2N 163 TRACTOR

As there can realistically be only 2 firing orders for a 4 cylinder engine then it will be one of these two. 1-2-4-3 1-3-4-2 I am 95% sure that on your Ford it will be 1-2-4-3. So give that a try and if it is incorrect then you know it it 1-3-4-2.
