Question about Kenmore Refrigerators

Open Question

Kenmore model 795: left side French door will not close because the flipper/flap does not reposition itself after opening. One has to hold it to guide it back into the track. What part do I need?

It seems like it would need a spring or tensioner.

SOURCE: fuel door release latch not working

Try Super Heavy Duty Lock Tight and attach it to the fuel door. Make small hole to feed the end of spring into then glue it down tight.

SOURCE: ICE DOOR WILL NOT LET ICE FALL DOWN CHUTE,

the ice door has a solenoid that opens and closes the ice door. since you were able to replae the door i assume you can take it apart pull it back apart and the crank the door attaches too is connected on 1 side to an electrical soleiod test if the plunger moves up and down freely. also look for heat deformation around the plastic as well. if it turns out the solenoid is bad i would also recomend replacing the the fountain boards as well. I dont think you can put to much tension on the spring..

SOURCE: driver side window is off track and stuck about 75% closed

If your power window motor is not moving up or down at all inside the door panel, you will need a new motor.
If your window is stuck and will not move, it is the motor - it is bad.
If your window falls down into the door panel, the window is off track.
Replacing a window motor is an easy fix, get another one from an auto parts store and replace it.
Good luck!

SOURCE: right side french door does not stay closed

I had the same problem - had my local appliance repair shop come by - simple releveling of the unit such that it is tilted slightly back re-establishes things so that the doors will cloe and pull themselves closed. The gaskets are actually magnetized. If the leveling is correct - even upon closing the left door - forcing enough pressure to push open slightly the right side - it will draw itself back in.

Good day! The center flap (vertical hinged flap) no longer rotates back in when closing the left door. Result: the flap remains "out" when closing the door thus banging up against the right door.

Their is a factory issue on some models call the factory to see if your unit is a defective unit. Other wise the door flap has to be replaced. Not cheap..

The door flap on my KitchenAid French Door fridge isn't springing completely back into place, and it's catching on the other door.

Locate and adjust the spring responsible for getting that flap into proper place and all will be resolved.

Hoe do I replace the bobbin carriage

Don't know which model you have but most machine bobbins have a metal "flipper" on the front. You need to pull that open with your right thumb and index finger, then insert the bobbincase with the . You might have to wiggle it around (don't let go of the flipper until it is seated and will no longer wiggle). When it has popped into a spot where it will no longer turn, release the flipper.

Bobbin Case Threading and Inserting into Machine

The only part of this video I would contradict is, not stuffing the bobbin thread into the bobbin area. If there is an indentation in the case by the door to put your finger to open the door (like what her machine shows), just hold the thread so it fits through that finger indentation while you close the door. Some machines actually have a little lip by that finger indentation where you lay the thread.
